@Dark-lauron actually a couple mods fixed that up pretty quick, MMM, and OOO added more monsters and made the game more difficult to play infact. As for the way the characters looked well it took modders to get that fixed.

Example 1 Orchid by Honeyvanity

Example 2 Revy By Darigaz17

Access to the Oblivion mod community is worth $50 all by itself.  They're amazing.  As much as Fallout 3 brought the modders out, TES games set them on fire.  There's some increadible stuff out there.  I can't wait to see what they do for TESV.  :-)

There was nothing wrong with Nords, except perhaps the name. its the lizard and cat people that gotta go.

The cat people I can kind of get into.  They're amusing.  The lizard people.... Just a waste really.  They've never been a factor.  Hopefully, there are real racial differences in TESV.

I liked both the lizard people. they can breath under water without spells and are immune to disease. I would lik to seem them look more lizard like in the next game.

TESV should have an entire underwater city or town.  One you'll only see if you're argonian or a mage.  That would be special and certainly difference from "there are the lizard elves" that I think most people see them as.

@RinpocheSchnozberry Well Oblivion is still being modded, and so is Fallout 3; However atm alot of modders are hard at work F:NV. Though not sure how many are still working on DA:O/DA:A. As for Oblivion its likely its on sale pretty cheap atm due to the holidays, and how long its been out.

I hope they change to look of the people. The races in oblivion were round faced, eyes far apart and everyone looked so average. Call me vain but i'd like some better looking faces, not even attractive, just more defined. Please!

Doh it did make managing to create an attractive character feel like an achievement

It's funny cats, lizards, and orcs are the most pleasing to the eye in vanilla Oblivion. Elves and humans are so frakking ugly without mods. Yeah, I'm hoping character creation receives a complete overhaul.

Has anyone read the novel that takes place after IV? I'm assuming it links to V?

The Infernal city is set 40 years after the events of Oblivion.

There is a plot summary found here

I know exactly what you mean, as I own Oblivion on the console, though some elf females don't look THAT bad

Funny thing that you mention how the Khajiit, Argonians, and Orcs are the best-looking visually on vanilla oblivion, because I think one of the best-looking female characters is Borba gra-Uzgash, the merchant in Cheydinhal. For an Orc, she has kind of a pretty face, and her lips would be kissable if it weren't for the Orc teeth. The fact that she doesn't have one of those weird hairstyles with exposed scalp also helps.

Yeahhhh... I'm aware. I was wondering if someone has read it and was left with the impression it's setting up V.

Lol yes, i spotted those. Im of course referring to the original designs. Plus i'll be playing on the 360, modding on that is just a headf***

I have read the first oblivion book, theres one more to come i think. I did get the impression it was a 'bridge the gap' book. Its really worth a read if you're curious, i enjoyed it.

It ended on a big cliffhanger, and Bethesda have confirmed (I believe) that there will be another book. The book is interesting as it shows us what state Tamriel is in (it has changed a lot since Oblivion)- these changes will surely influence TES:V. But since there is a second book on the way, I seriously doubt that TES:V will be a continuation of the Infernal City plot.

Yeah. Project Offset was an independent game that went bust when Intel purchased it and then forgot about it. Not related to ES:V at all, fortunately.

So it is the direct sequel to Oblivion? Does that mean it will be set around the Imperial homeland (cant remember what it is called)? I was really hoping they would go to a new area for the sequel.

Cyrodiil.  And from the wild, almost baseless, random rumors, yes it is the setting.  :D
