Hello,

I tried to inform the right people about a small issue via EA Support, but I only got some advice that didn't work.

After all, I just wanted to inform the developers of a language issue that occurs with the German PC version of Mass Effect 2 during the endgame onboard the Collector Base if "Lair of the Shadow Broker" is installed.

Here's the mail I wrote to EA support that sums the issue up:

Hello,

I just wanted to inform you about a language issue
concerning the Mass Effect 2 Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC and the
German PC version of Mass Effect 2.

I could verify that
installing the Shadow Broker DLC causes the character Harbinger (German:
Vorbote) during the Endgame missions to render his in-fight comments in
English instead of German.

Renaming the Shadow Broker DLC folder
and thus deactivating the DLC corrects this and Harbinger is again
commenting during the fight in German.

I thought this could be
valuable information for future patches and DLC concerning Mass Effect 2
on PC and I would be happy if you could forward this information to the
Mass Effect 2 development team.

I'm playing
on PC, Windows 7 64-bit.

Thanks in advance

So again:

German game version, PC, physical disc

- Shadow Broker DLC present, Harbinger comments in English during endgame on Collector Base, other audio including Harbinger cutscene stays German

- Shadow Broker DLC not present (renaming the DLCs folder is enough), Harbinger correctly comments in German during endgame on Collector Base

My system:

MassEffect2.exe v1.02

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 860  @ 2.80GHz, 6 GB RAM
Radeon HD 5850 1GB VRAM, Catalyst 10.10
Realtek High Definition Audio, 6.0.1.6083
DirectX 11 (ME2 configuration tool says "DirectX 10.0  (Mar2009) or later")

Perhaps this helps to see if anything can be done in a possible future patch or to avoid issues like this with any future DLC.
Just wanted to let people know. It's not gamebreaking, it's just irritating and reduces immersion during the final mission.

I would be happy if this information could somehow be forwarded to the developers.
