Is there a way to transfer Bioware points, seriously I'd buy it for you. That's how I hate Garrus's damaged armor. ;)

Ah, no worries.  Just spent $5 on points and picked it up :P

Wow, Jeanluc761, that was incredibly cool of you.
The alternance pack was a mixed bag.
- Garrus finally has an undamaged armor + for me it looks even better than his original.
- Finally Jack gets a great outfit (yay), except it's completely ruined because of the godawful sunglasses, and you can't take them off! (Grrr!!)
- Thane, well I like his original outfits, so I didn't really care about that one (and yes the sunglasses ruins this one aswell).
But it was worth it imo just for Garrus's armor.

Took about 30 seconds to load them all. No hit on frame rate either running around the citadel testing it out.

Texmod must really be messed up on my PC configuration. JeanLuc's textures take around two minutes to load... :(

What are you running on? My gaming machine is pretty good, or so I like to think, so ME2 has never given it a workout. Even the upgraded textures have not been a problem.

Kestral Armor would be awesome for the next one.

I'm trying to wait for the next DLC before doing another run through, but these texture upgrades are making it hard. Kestral would do me in.

I did happen to get class cancelled today so maybe I'll just plow through the Kestral armor and maybe get it done for tomorrow :P

Ahh, stuck in the same east coast storm perhaps? School will probably be cancelled tomorrow too. Just hope the power stays on, and work gets cancelled for me.

You might be waiting until Saturday depending on how things go.  Just a heads up.

Well thank ya.  Did just find out though that the textures for the Male version are identical to the female version.  That literally halves the amount of work, so this could be done quite quickly.

Opps, I was just making some comparison screen shots for myself, it loads about 20 secs a texture, not 30 secs total. I was doing the wrong load times before. 1:20 to load 4 of your textures, not 30 secs. Duh.

ATI HD4770 / AVG anti-virus. Apparently that's the worst possible scenario for running TexMod, otherwise Mass Effect 2 runs fine for me at 1280x1024 8xAA/16xAF and a modded .ini . Nothing really wrong with JeanLuc's textures, everything I load slows the game down a lot...

That Kestrel looks amazing! Any updates on the regular N7 armor you started a while back?

For ME2 I figured the procesor would be the bigger issue. The game and PHYSX can take toll I guess since the processor has to do both, unless you modded the PHYSX to the GPU somehow.

Awesome on the Krestel armor.  I feel another run though coming...

That looks fantastic mate! Though may i suggest adding a very slight gradiant to each 'square'. I always think of the material the armour is made out of to be similar to carbon fiber:

Most of the high resolution artwork actually makes it appear that the armor is made of carbon fiber.  Maybe I should just alter the appearance and use a real carbon fiber texture as opposed to the "checkerboard" that's present.

I believe Texmod has issues with Ati cards. With HD4890 Texmod killed framerates in situations that are totally unrelated to the textures used, like in CIC or anywhere with a lot of holograms and so on. Upgraded to Nvidia GTX460 and FPS issues are gone, it still drops but it isnt killed to choppyness. GTX460 IS faster than HD4890, but not that much faster.

Excellent work Captain Picard! I'm still holding off on my 6th playthrough because I want all of your textures before going ahead, I hope it will be well worth it. Thank you so much for doing this for us PC ME fans, aswell as listening to our suggestions(Not that I've suggested anything, yet). We don't deserve this.

Maybe that's it, updated drivers and the usual checks done? I'm an NVidia user, I've had no problems.

Well, gave the carbon fiber appearance a shot.

Not sure if I like it or not yet, though it's no worse than the checkerboard pattern.

I wish I could make use of these mods, but I'm the XBox and PS3 only. The PS3 textures seem to be better in some cases.

I would love to see your take on Samara, though her existing textures are really good.

One thing that always bugs me about Miranda and Shepard is the hairline. It's such and incised line, rather than a natural transition from bare skin to hair. Usually at the temples and forehead there is a "wispy" zone where the individual hairs are visible. The hair textures in general in the game are pretty terrible, looking more like stripes than hair. I would love to see new textures that are based on photos of actual hair.

It won't be complete until late tonight at the earliest, unfortunately.

Also, as for the checkerboard vs. carbon fiber problem...surprisingly, combining the two yielded appealing results.
