Higher resolution textures for characters (PC Mod)

That is... a lot of textures you're planning on. Might I suggest something - if you get to the minor NPC outfits, don't do them in such a high resolution as the others. A few 2048x2048, or even 4096x4096, might not hit performance that much (disregarding TexMod on ATI card issue), but dozens of them will. Especially on some of the toughest scenes for the framerate, like Tali's trial. Maybe go for something like 1024x1024 that will also require less work?
One random NPC texture that could definitely use some work is the "scientist" robe as seen on Gianna Parasini and a number of asari. It's horrible, probably the worst texture in-game, on any character.

Thank you!
And a couple of questions, if you won't mind.
Is there a chance you could release Casual Cerberus Outfit (formal suit) without the Cerberus logo? I know that simply removing the sign from the texture won't do, it would still be 'embossed' on the cloth...
Also, have you considered working on Alliance formal suit, like the one Anderson wears? He's not a very important NPC, sure, but there's no need to make a hi-rez super-quality texture then, just slightly improving the current one would do. (Yeah, I have to admit I'm particularly interested 'cos I use it as a casual outfit for my FemShep, but then again, I totally do understand why it's not on the priority list.)
Oh my, I didn't expect there would be a third question but here it is.Have you considered making separate .tpf files for usual & loyality outfits? The thing is, the game indeed loads slower with all the current mods, so I can hardly imagine what loading textures for all squaddies would be like. And having two separate .tpfs would be very useful for those who like and constantly use default outfit and never use the alternative one, or vice versa. Just a suggestion.
1) I can try to do that, but I'm unsure if I'll be able to properly remove it from the normal map.
2) I'm uncertain about devoting much time to this one. I might do it just for the sake of making Anderson himself look better, but it's pretty far down on the list right now.
3) I'm also uncertain about this. I absolutely see where you're coming from, but I'm trying to limit the number of texmods that people have to load. Having to load 24 .tpf files just for squadmates would quickly become a hassle.
Thanks!
As for the number of texmods - well, we can use ME2 texture quick bypass so we won't have to choose and load .tpf files manually every time we load the game. I just doubt that many users really need all 24 textures simultaneously - are default/loyality ourfits swapped so often? Also, alternative outfits are not supposed to be available prior loyality missions anyways, and these may take place in only the middle/in the end of the playthrough. Meanwhile, using them all may extend loading time up to 5 minutes and more (and NPCs are also to come).
Just food for thought, really.

When he bumped up the texture res, the faceplat become more transparent/easier to see through. I assume the different versions are if you want to see her face more easily, or you want the old faceplate texture.Mesina2 wrote...

Awww, you don't like LotSB Liara? Bum deal manBurdokva wrote...
Argh, LotSB Liara face, I hate it! JeanLuc, please consider releasing her re-skinned outfit with the old face, even if you don't do any work on it. I know I'm in the minority here, but two games had one face and I'd rather switch the LotSB model for internal consistency than the other way around. Plus did I mention how much I loathe the new face?...

Either way, it's should be very easy to accomodate your request. I'll release an alternate version of the mod that makes the LotSB texture the "continuity one," and I'll release one that replaces the LotSB texture with her "ordinary" one.

No, the visible face one has added eyebrows for huge personality bump, look for the screenshots in this thread. IMHO they look great. But some do not wish to have them because we really do not know if Quarians have eyebrows.

Right now, Kasumi is about halfway done and I've gotten a lot of inspiriation to work on Liara after playing LotSB last night.
I'd say those two are my textures of focus for the day, and chances are pretty good that I'll be able to release both of them by tomorrow. Also working on a request for LuxDragon.

Are you planning on going over the other casual outfits? I usually use the default outfit for my FemShep (the one with the rolled-up sleeves), but I've switched to your Cerberus Casual now. Thank you so much for that btw

Do you have Texmod installed? If not, download that program first. Once you have Texmod installed, make sure you choose "MassEffect2.exe" as the application. Then, extract the mods to the same folder as TexMod, and load each one you want to use.Mesina2 wrote...
