Ah, I gotcha. In that case, I'll just release a version that just has Chakwas' uniform.MACharlie1 wrote...
I think he's asking for Chakwas' uniform to be in a seperate file since he still wants the hi-rez science uniform but not the high rez Cerberus uniform. Get one but not the other.JeanLuc761 wrote...
I'm a little confused as to what you're asking. Are you asking if I can separate the Normandy Cerberus uniform from the one that other NPC's wear? If so, unfortunately it's a "universal" texture. The Natoorat wrote...
Very nice, as always.
But could I make a little request(apart from my standard 'Heavy N7 armour please' one)?
As I am using retextured (black) normandy uniforms, and I prefere them to hi-res ones, I want to keep them, but I would like very much to have your hi-res science team uniform(dr Bastilasmother's one). I can double override them(standard uniforms) with tex mod, but that takes memory space needlesly, so could you separate standard cerberus uniforms and science uniforms into 2 different *.tpf files?

Up next is either Garrus or Legion; I haven't decided yet. Either way, it's a lot of work.

I am starting to wonder if this mod is becoming more trouble than it's worth. The long load times are getting particularly annoying for me, as I need to wait usually 2 minutes or so between minor edits for the game to load.Yannkee wrote...
I downloaded your last mods, unfortunately the loading time has increased and it takes more than 5 minutes to launch the game now.

Is anyone else feeling this way? I'd prefer to know whether or not I'm starting to waste my time with this.

I'd say it depends on the character. Some of them (like Samara or Thane) already look pretty decent with their current textures. Others (like Jack or Legion) could certainly use an improvement.
Of course, I'm not really expecting anyone to fix Jack's body texture. Getting the details right on all those tatoos would probably be a bloody nightmare.

I don't think it's a waste of time. Personally, I only downloaded the mods for the characters I like the most and the one I often choose in my squad. So I still have a load time I can accept.
But, I think every characters deserve a HQ texture mod, and I'm sure a lot of players will be happy that you continue your amazing work.

Fair enough. BIOWARE! Why don't you release a toolkit?!Yannkee wrote...

Considering that ME2 runs on UE3, and that the UDK can't seem to handle ME2's upk files, I'd say Bioware made the ME games "unmodable" on purpose. Not sure what their reason is, but I highly doubt we will ever see official mod tools. We'll have to make do with the tools the community comes up with.

Jack is probably the character in most need of improvement (at least for her body, as you said).

It's a good idea, but the main problem I've had with that is that the ingame shaders often handle the textures differently than 3dsmax does. 3dsmax might be vastly more realistic (my renders of Miranda and Tali quickly prove that), but I can't accurately reproduce the ingame shader.MACharlie1 wrote...
Why not, instead of loading directly into Mass Effect, load it into 3dsmax to avoid the long load times between minor changes?

Also long loading times aren't a problem(at least not for me). My Medieval 2 Total War with Stainless Steel starts up longer than ME2 with tex mod(and I have sth like 20 mods running). It's good time to get sth to drink, after all ME2 makes no sense if you are sober(but only if you are 18+, mind you).

You are referring to the default armor, yes?
Or was it the "Heavy" armor from Mass Effect 1?

The entire recording process of ME2 for me has stopped because of this. I refuse to do their loyalty missions with out it.
But I can wait. Arrival will probably hold me off for a while.
