Well, this went faster than I expected. I happily present high resolution Default Shepard for BOTH Mass Effect 1 and 2. Enjoy!

Awesome! Once again, great work JeanLuc.. I only play with the default Shep face so this is great news for me. :)

I am really suprised that over the whole internet there is no ATI fix for texmod or equivalent program... It's a big shame :(

I'm using an ATI card and it works just fine. In fact, even with texmod loading all these additional files it's still far more stable than Dragon Age and Dragon Age 2.

Are you in a CrossfireX setup? If so, that's probably why.

Nope, I'm running a single HD5770 card and it works fine. I don't have the steam version of the game, and I'm running Win7 64-bit. The load time isn't /that/ bad for me, it's lengthy, but not unbearable and the game hasn't crashed yet even with all these add-ons running with texmod

Essentially the same setup as mine except for the steam part and I know for a fact that that is not the culprit.
Try running 20 different tex mods at the same time (Technically there shouldn't be any fps drop based on the number of mods you are using.) and talk to TIM at the start of the game or walk around the CIC. That should get it.
For me, those are the only places where it's bad(20-10fps). Everywhere else is a clean ~60fps.

Also: 20 tex mods in use= four minute initial load time.

I don't use 20 texmods at once, only the ones released here at once. So at most, six to eight at a time right now.

As I said, the number you use is irrelevant, as there is only abour a 1 fps difference between using one texmod and 13.
I currently use:

Black Zaeed
Black Locust
Black Mattock
Black Phalanx
Black Stock Heavy Weapons
Black Stock Weapons
Dark Incisor
HD Eyes v1.2
Fixed Kuwashii Visor
HD Normandy
HD Wood
HD Jacob
HD Liara LOTSB
HD Miranda
HD Normandy Uniforms
HD Cerberus Casual
HD Shepard Formal
HD Kestral w/ Spectre N-Map
HD Tali

all at the same time.
The lowest fps I got was 8 for about half a second during the end of Garrus' loyalty mission.

Where did you get the mods not in this thread Spartanburger?

I went to the texmods group and went through the 'projects' of that group. Took all the ones that I liked or that worked.
That reminds me: I need to check that group for updates.

<shrug> In any event, I am not experiencing the issues that other ATI users have reported. Framerate stays steady even in the CiC at 1920x1080 and with the settings up fairly high. <I'll have to look to see where they sit exactly>

I may be a complete idiot, but I'm not finding any way to search for a particular group, so can you please post a link to it? Thanks.

Is there any chance making hair higher resolution textures?

I'm definitely considering it.  Getting a little tired of the "oily" look.

On a slightly related note, there's a good chance I'll have the default N7 armor done within the next 24 hours (ideally to be used the upcoming Arrival DLC).  I'll be posting some progress shots so stay tuned!

jeanluc, does the default N7 armor come with pieces as well? or just the pure default pieces you get at the start of the game.

Just the default pieces you start off with.  Much as I'd like to do every possible permutation, it's ruthlessly time consuming and my time is currently limited.

In that case, is it possible to edit the stats of armor pieces? The default pieces do need a boost.

Hi Everyone!

First: JeanLuc, your doing an exemplary work in improving the game quality. I already using your mods for ME1, since I started a new Shepard (the fifth), and the Garrus texture is such a huge improvement....

Second: I have a problem with ME2. I installed it, 'cos you know - Arrival. Then I downloaded all your textures, and tried to load the game, since I wanted to see the textures first, but the game wont start. I did everything, as it should be (Masseffect2.exe from binaries folder, then open all textures) but the game won't start. Then I pushed the three magic buttons (ctrl+alt+del) and it said the game is not responding. Then I tried to load only one texture mod, but still nothing. What am I doing wrong? If I had a slow rig, than the game should still run, but awfully slowly....

Please, help me, anyone!
Thanks

It can take about 4 minutes to load the game with Texmod; during the wait your computer will not respond to anything but the monkeygrip (ctrl+alt+del).

It all depends on your computer speed. Do you have any other way of monitoring your computer activity?
