very nice. whose next luc?

Well, all I have left is Grunt, Samara and Kasumi.  Grunt and Kasumi are both about a third done, and Samara's texture doesn't appear too difficult.

In all honesty, it's hard to say who I want to do next; I'm a little burned out so I'm probably going to take a day off.

Don't worry about it luc. I think i speak for everyone when i say you have earned a break. 2 textures in one day must have been difficult. we all appreciate your patience in working on this project.

Too bad you can't just replace the original texture files with the hi-res ones in your ME2 directory. I guess we wouldn't need to use texmod then. Could a small program do this, anyone know?

If anyone did, I don't think we'd be using TexMod.

Should of just given us a damn Override folder. <_<

You are awesome JeanLuc. I'm surpised that you even worked on the textures, when there was an E3 going on with loads of news on ME3.
So please, take a break for now, don't spoil us with your work^_^ Maybe play through Portal 2 one or two times again

Hey JeanLuc,

Your Thane texture looks great! I noticed something, though...

For some reason, Thane's second set of eyelids have a texture they probably aren't supposed to. XD Looks like part of his jacket.

How the...

I have no idea why that would happen; his eyelids should (logically) be part of his face texture, not using the jacket.

The devs never did put textures on Thane's second set of eyelids.

Just out of curiosity (as I haven't had a chance to play yet with the new textures), how does it look in action? Based on that screen grab, I was kind of assuming that it was meant to be a kind of scalely texture for the nictitating membranes. Does it look clearly artificial when he blinks? Or does it look like it could be natural?

To use a small pun, it's the "blink and you miss it" type of noticeable.  After looking at the texture map...for some reason, Bioware has the inner eyelids using the same texture as part of his upper leg.  Doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever, but it does mean that it can't really be fixed without screwing up his leg.

I see what you did there.

To be honest, I noticed it right away. The pattern on the second set of eyelids, anyway. Mostly because it's very defined and some scenes there are REALLY up close shots of his face. It was jarring enough that I posted it here to show you.

I do a lot of video work so details are incredibly obvious to me. XD It's strange they used part of his outfit for an eyelid texture. Anyway, that's unfortunate, cause I really like this texmod...

Finally got around to playing a bit with the newer textures enabled (though I haven't got around to some of the characters with them; still have yet to pick up Thane or Legion), and I just want to say how incredible Jack looks. At first I was a little worried that the black part of her tattoos would be too black, thus looking more like paint than like tattoo ink... But in game, it looks quite good, and the detail is amazing. Well done!:

Hey Jean Luc, since you're on the final stretch with Mass Effect 2's characters, are you planning on tweaking the main cast of the original too? More precisely the regular Alliance uniform and drill clothes, Ashley, Kaiden and Wrex high-res faces and, most important, a high-resolution Saren. His texture was always a bit too low-res and blurry for such an important character, I'd love to see him in his full HD glory (even in screenshots, as my ATI card hates Texmod).

Yeah, I'll be doing some of the ME1 characters at some point.

Now I wish I had a PC version of all the ME games. Unfortunately, my PC don't have the power to do so.
Great work on the textures JeanLuc761. Keep em' coming.

My texmod refuses to work with these ME2 textures. ME1 textures work like a charm in ME1 (not even a frame drop :o), but when I try to start ME2 with the ME2 textures it just hangs and refuses to start.

Anyone got a clue as to why this happens? I've been able to use texmod before with ME2, strangely.

How long is the hang? and how many textures are you trying to use?

Your hang time should be 3 to 4 minutes, however, I remember someone saying it could have taken up to 6 mins in some cases.  Does your screen turn black when you hang? Try waiting maybe 10 mins and then see what happens.

Could also just try to delete it and redownload too.

Yeah, have the same issue but figured out what SimplyNeo pointed out, its just taking the machine a long time to get fired up.  I have Win 7 Ultimate with 4 gigs of ram and a GTS 250, my wait time is usually seconds except for loading ME2 with Texmod and these textures.  Tried several workarounds and just came to realize I have to start it, walk away and do something else, and come back in 5 mins or so.  Well worth the wait though, if you ask me.

I suspected this was the case, but I frankly didn't have the patience to sit through more than a few minutes last night when I tried it to test this theory. Will try again later and see if it works this time around with a little wait.
