Fanboy? I don't even know what "hi-res textures" are. Thanks for the mature responses though...
In Mass Effect 1 and 2, most of the textures used for characters are at a resolution of 512x512 (faces) and 1024x1024 (bodies/armor). My textures are double or quadruple that resolution, making them much cleaner and more detailed. This is something that is only possible on PC because A) Xbox 360/PS3 doesn't have Texmod, and

Actually, I've met several people who swear on their lives that they are completely unable to tell the difference between my high resolution textures and the default textures.ThePwener wrote...
Well okay then, not that I care how flashy the pictures in the box are and how often Im blinded by them, they look fine to me. Personally, the pics looks exactly the same to me, just one brighter then the other. Apperantly it's just me though.
Granted, I don't have any good comparison images uploaded, so that might be part of it.

I work with a guy who for a long time argued with me that there was no difference between HDTV (1080P) and SDTV (480i) picture. He went to the optometrist and found out he needed glasses BADLY. After he got them, we had a conversation about HDTV again and he said that now that he could actually see that the difference was remarkable.
As for your textures, the comparison picture of Jack I think shows the differences quite clearly.

Yeah and the differences are a heck of alot more noticable when you're playing (fullscreen) compared to a small screenshot.

Just brilliant. You can easily see the enhanced detail on her body, eyebrows, and general complexion.
SimplyNeo has a point you can see the seam on top of her head where the textures meet, but it is minor. Idk why I can only run the textures for Jack, Samara, and Sheploo. I let texmod try to load for about 10 minutes and the flash screen doesn't show so I give up. Maybe it just takes a really long time to load them all, Idk yet.
Still, this is pure genius, we should be in awe

This means all my ss are now trash and I have to load up ME2 again. Thanks a lot, Picard <_<

This is where the optimized pack will come in handy. The detail is still fantastic, but the game loads much faster (under five minutes for me).Goat_Shepard wrote...
Right you are. I loaded every single mod and let it run for 20 minutes and voila. Hopefully it doesn't take that long every time, cuz I'd be forced to live with it

I think it's been discussed and people came to the conclusion it is either the machine or video card you are running. Apparently there is some sort of ATI issue. I have Nvidia cards and have no issues with Texmod. Also what are you running on? Look a few pages back I think for the answer. If I remember right.
I'm using an ATI/AMD 5970. I'll take a look at the previous pages, but was there actually a fix or is this an unsolved issue?

As far as I know, it's an unresolved issue with ATI/AMD cards. There have been outliers with NVidia cards though.P3G4SU5 wrote...

The problem definitely stems from Texmod itself though, as if you simply launch the game through Texmod without adding any textures you still get the drop.

Same results? Raising the brightness does not change the quality of the textures, only their visibility. I can 100% guarantee you that all of these texmods are more detailed than what is present in the default game.ThePwener wrote...
Wow..... I can get the same results by turning the brightness up in my Tv.
Don't bother JeanLuc, he's just a jealous console fanboy who's frustrated because his console can't handle hi-res textures due to the incredible amount of low ram consoles have.
Did you mention something about consoles? lol

The other issue is your machine. There seems to be a large difference in time. A few pages ago someone said it took 14 minutes to load. Mine took 6 minutes for basically the same mods (All of JeanLuc's and few other HD Mods). So, apparently there can be a wide swing in how long it takes to load. It's worth it though.
Once Grunt (and hopefully AAP2:D) is done, it's time for another run through! With clarity.
Speaking of which. I help a lot of friends with there HD TVs. Biggest issue, they couldn't see the difference or it looked worse than regular TV. Why? They were pumping 480i regular TV signals on to a 40 or 42" screen which just showed how bad 480i was once it was blown up. Once I told them to get an HD source everyone was amazed. Maybe that's ThePwener problem, poor TV and/or source output.
Keep up the great work JeanLuc, we all appreciate it.

All I can do now is hope that the author might look at the program again and find some way to make it more compatible with AMD graphics cards.

Could Husks and Collectors be given the same kind of hi-res treatment that squadmates have had? Or are they different kind of models/textures that cannot be edited?
Thanks!

With Texmod you can edit the textures of just about everything in the game, so yes, but it's up to JeanLuc to decide wether or not to do husks and collectors.
