Cant wait for more though. But I'll just play Mass Effect 1 in the meantime...

Good to hear. I've been using some of your new textures and they look even better in game than in your screenshots. :happy:JeanLuc761 wrote...

In all seriousness, made some considerable progress lately on both Miranda and Kasumi. I don't have any screenshots (that I'm satisfied with, at any rate), but I should have some for you either late tonight or tomorrow morning. I have to say...these two are looking good.

What's this? An actual progress update? NO WAY!

Hey, is there a way to use texmod and still force AA through Nvidia control panel? That's the only reason I don't use texmod anymore.

I'm able to use both without any issue.GuardianAngel470 wrote...

And on topic, great to hear you're progressing well on this, can't wait to see some of the new ones ingame. Just wondering, have you considered releasing your base textures, unpackaged, so that anyone might be able to edit them for their own use? For example, if someone wanted to make a Jacob/Miranda retexture without the Cerberus logos, but wanted to use the higher-res versions you've made rather than editing just the ME2 default textures, they would be able to do so?

How? Which .exe do you set it to use? Is it MassEffect2.exe (texmod) or MassEffect2Original.exe?

By the way, Jean Luc, what video card/driver settings do you use? I notice there's anti-aliasing in the screenshots, but my HD4770 produces somewhat different results (and honestly, not so good image quality).

If someone could make a working PCC extractor/compiler, I'll dance for joy. Texmod works admirably, but something like that would be glorious.Burdokva wrote...
... I hate Texmod, I really do! I just can't tell you how much I hope EpicLegion over at the modding thread succeeds in making a .pcc extractor/compiler! Those textures deserve to be in-game without the lag-inducing Texmod!

My video card is the XFX GeForce 8800GT 512mb. As it stands, I'm using the control panel to override the application settings for masseffect2.exe and forcing it to 4xAA.

That's a mistake on my part. As I was adding in some shading to her outfit, I painted over her skin and haven't removed it yet. It's an easy fix though, so you can expect it to be back to normal with the next update.Da3mon1991 wrote...
Still looking very good JeanLuc! Especially the hexagons on her suit as you mentioned. Just one thing though: Is it the lighting or does the skin part of Miranda look a bit darker than the skin color on her face?

That would be so awesome if he succeeds! Give us a chance to properly bring Mass Effects graphics to higher end level without hacking. Effects are great as they are, textures just need a serious overhaul.

Also, some of you will be happy to know that I've doubled the resolution of her face texture and added some more detail for better closeups. I can't do this for all the characters, but I was able to get away with it on Miranda without much hassle.

It's a shame that Bioware didn't make 2048x2048 textures for PC version.

These are actually all 4096x4096, believe it or not. My "source" textures are 8192x8192.Yannkee wrote...
