Good to hear. I've been using some of your new textures and they look even better in game than in your screenshots.

Dude, these are amazing! Once I get ME2 for the PC, i'm totally downloading these. It's a shame that the 360 is so limited, but oh well.

Your work is much appreciated on here, keep on rocking! :D

What's this? An actual progress update? NO WAY!

In all seriousness, made some considerable progress lately on both Miranda and Kasumi. I don't have any screenshots (that I'm satisfied with, at any rate), but I should have some for you either late tonight or tomorrow morning. I have to say...these two are looking good.

Hey, is there a way to use texmod and still force AA through Nvidia control panel? That's the only reason I don't use texmod anymore.

I'm able to use both without any issue. :)

Yeah, I run AA and Texmod together perfectly fine, even though it took a little more effort when it came to getting everything working right on ME1. Just try going through configuration tools and see if that fixes anything.

And on topic, great to hear you're progressing well on this, can't wait to see some of the new ones ingame. Just wondering, have you considered releasing your base textures, unpackaged, so that anyone might be able to edit them for their own use? For example, if someone wanted to make a Jacob/Miranda retexture without the Cerberus logos, but wanted to use the higher-res versions you've made rather than editing just the ME2 default textures, they would be able to do so?

How? Which .exe do you set it to use? Is it MassEffect2.exe (texmod) or MassEffect2Original.exe?

Right then, got some screens a little earlier than anticipated. Remember, this is still very much in "alpha," so you'll probably see quite a bit unfinished (most notably, the seams on her suit appear to be absent.)

Overall though, she's showing substantial improvement.

Couple more shots of Miranda, now with more visible lighting. I'm very pleased with the hexagon pattern on her suit; extremely detailed even in closeup. Up next is to add in the detail (seams) and work on her arms and boots. After that, I'll move onto her loyalty outfit and (hopefully) have a release date for early next week.

... I hate Texmod, I really do! I just can't tell you how much I hope EpicLegion over at the modding thread succeeds in making a .pcc extractor/compiler! Those textures deserve to be in-game without the lag-inducing Texmod!

By the way, Jean Luc, what video card/driver settings do you use? I notice there's anti-aliasing in the screenshots, but my HD4770 produces somewhat different results (and honestly, not so good image quality).

If someone could make a working PCC extractor/compiler, I'll dance for joy.  Texmod works admirably, but something like that would be glorious.

My video card is the XFX GeForce 8800GT 512mb.  As it stands, I'm using the control panel to override the application settings for masseffect2.exe and forcing it to 4xAA.

Still looking very good JeanLuc! Especially the hexagons on her suit as you mentioned. Just one thing though: Is it the lighting or does the skin part of Miranda look a bit darker than the skin color on her face?

That's a mistake on my part.  As I was adding in some shading to her outfit, I painted over her skin and haven't removed it yet.  It's an easy fix though, so you can expect it to be back to normal with the next update.

That would be so awesome if he succeeds! Give us a chance to properly bring Mass Effects graphics to higher end level without hacking. Effects are great as they are, textures just need a serious overhaul.

Another brief update, no pics this time around. Been adding more of the fine details to Miranda's outfit with moderate success. The bulk of the remaining work will come from her "sleeves" and her boots, but those shouldn't be too difficult. Hope to have some more images soon, but I'm not quite satisfied with the seams running down her torso. They just look...off.

Also, some of you will be happy to know that I've doubled the resolution of her face texture and added some more detail for better closeups. I can't do this for all the characters, but I was able to get away with it on Miranda without much hassle.

And now for an update with pictures. First image showcases her higher resolution face texture and the second shows some progress on the suit itself.

The seams still look a little off to me, but I'll figure something out.

Good work.

It's a shame that Bioware didn't make 2048x2048 textures for PC version.

These are actually all 4096x4096, believe it or not.  My "source" textures are 8192x8192.

A little excessive?  Nah....:P
