Unfortunately, I don't see that changing with ME3. It's a shame, really.

I got here from Dead End Thrills, by way of Kotaku, and I must say: this is awesome stuff, this!
Just out of curiosity, is it possible to change the color of alternate Miranda's visor? I ask, because the texture for it at a glance appears to be plain white, rather than the yellow I expected.
That's what I'm here for Aislinn Trista wrote...

Thank you for your wonderful work. Your mods did actually make me buy NVidia and an SSD in order to get rid of the framerate drop and make loading times faster...
Is there a chance for an NPC pack to be released in the nearest future? I am about to start my ME2 pre-ME3 playthrough, thus I'm interested.

Good job on Miranda's armor .. even if I will never use it (I prefer the catsuits).

Hate to say it, but I highly doubt the NPC pack will be done soon enough for you to complete your pre-ME3 playthrough.Big stupid jellyfish wrote...

Now that I'm back in school, my free time will be limited once more.

There's no clickable link for the "optimized" Zaeed. Would you mind fixing that in the original post?

Okay. I just found this pack after being directed here from DeadEndThrills, who has used your pack to create some bloody awesome wallpaper-sized screenshots. These textures are freaking amazing, and the fact that you've continued to add more to it as further game content has been released is commendable. I wish I had something more than applause and fanfare to give you for your work. Seriously, you should link to a donation page (assuming forum rules allow). I could throw five or ten dollars your way for this awesomeness.
I do have a couple of quick questions:
One: At some point - don't want to distract you too much from the real work- would you mind going back and updating the first post with the AAP textures and whatever else you happen to have done in the meantime? I'll run through fifty-some pages of the thread to get at all of these if I have to, but I'd like to avoid that if at all possible.
Two: Zaeed's texture isn't in the full ME2 optimized pack, but his individual link doesn't exist. Error, or deliberate?
Three: Looking through the first post, you say you've done some ME1 textures as well. The sum total of what I can find for ME1 are Garrus' face (friggin' thank you), Chakwas' outfit, and male Shepard's (sheploo's?) face. Are there any plans to release other ME1 high-res squad textures?
Four: I echo Takuat's request. Whenever you get around to Jack's AA outfit, if you can manage to get rid of those [expletive] tinfoil sunglasses, I will love you forever.

Right! So my questions are some of Diosjenin's questions which you haven't completly answered. To be more specific, I'm especially interested in #1. Will you update your first post with your latest work or do we have to rummage through all of the topic's pages to get them? Also, do you think you can make some sort of table with columns like character, link, skins and last day of the update..? the skins column containning the names of the skins that you've updated for that specific character so far. One more thing. I think (male) Shepard's hair look a bit too glossy. That doesn't seem right. Could you maybe fix that? If you have time and if you want of course. OK that's everything I had to ask you. Thank you for your time! Impressive work by the way! :-)

As for Shepard's "glossy hair," I was actually noticing that in my recent playthrough of ME1 in preparation for ME3. I will be fixing that, probably tonight!
To be perfectly honest, I have no idea what's going on there. Have you tried re-installing your game?I RJay I wrote...
Hey, I'm having some problems with this... My Mass Effect 2 game works perfectly fine, but when I try and use Texmod to load texture files, after I click 'run' I get an error message simply saying "Error: There is an error with your game's setup. Please reinstall your game." It gives me no other reasons. I have followed the steps described by all the forums I could find to installing and using Texmod, it just doesn't appear to fix this.
Any help would be great, thanks.
I haven't tried the Origin version, but I can't imagine it would be very different from the Steam version.NonentityX wrote...
I see you have instructions for retail/steam user's but i play me2 through origin currently, as at the time, there was that debacle with EA's Origin and Steam and some of EA's game as were inaccessible through Steam. To make the texmod work, do we simply follow the same instructions with steam for Origins?

Yeah, I was just playing around with it, for those using Origin simply follow the retail instructions, no need to replace anything within the Origin files.
I had followed the Steam instructions initially, and all it was doing was looping, lol. It would open another copy of Texmod, so I simply just put back the original .exe and followed the retail instructions and it worked out just fine. Thanks for all your hard work JeanLuc, the textures look fantastic!

Unfortunately I'm having different issues now XD Texmod doesn't appear to be able to get Garrus, Mordin, Kestral armor to open in Texmod. Just curious if this is a known issue. Also I have the same problem as @djh_ depositfiles won't let me download the Miranda AA2 half visor.
I had a little play with the ones that did work and the quality is top notch

I believe the game is loading the new textures in that case. It's going to take some more time to load the game with these textures then just popping the game open on its own.Oceans1980 wrote...

I believe this is due to the mod not being very well thought out, from a optimized standpoint. I've also notice the occasional memory leak.

Look through the thread. To load the mods can take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes or more depending on how many items you add, and how powerful your computer is. You just have to wait. You can look through to see how long it took people depending on their PC. Sounds normal to me so far.

The time has nothing to do with the Mods themselves, but rather with TexMod. It takes time for TexMod to do its job, and the more textures you are using, the longer. Eseentially (as I understand it) what happens is each time you launch the game, TexMod must go through and replace each preloaded texture individually with the new, higher quality texture. Plus side is you aren't actually physically modifiing any game files, down side is it takes time to do its thing

Also I was wondering if all the textures you have made are on the first page for download? As I see you are pushing out new revised versions for characters, just wondering if the links on first page is up to date.
For last I just want to thank you for such an amazing job, you spend your free time doing something Bioware should have done themselves.
