All the gamefront links are broken for me. Can I download those Ultra textures somewhere else?
Thanks!
EDIT; Noticed the Torrent link a few posts up after I posted. Thanks man! Appreciated! Good initiative!

For the textures, there is also this link, they are not all there, but most of them are :
https://christian.ra...inal-commander/
(Found on the Jean-Luc's High Res Textures Trilogy Edition topic) ;)

Am I reading you right when I say the Miranda texture mentioned and pictured will be in the link you posted?

Unfortunately not, the Miranda's Alternate Texture for ME3 is there if I remember well, but not the ME2 one.

BAH!

Thanks for the link though! Downloadaed almost all of them, heheh!
Let me know if you find the alternate for ME2. :)

Nah, dude, you did well finding the original link, which is ,unfortunately, a broken one. Personnaly I also back a demand to find a universal backup link or file for that enormously gorgeous texmod.

Are you sure? Cause I downloaded it right before I posted the link, and the file works fine...

Well then, you're really lucky because I tried over and over but it always brings me to 404 page and it bugs me!(( BTW, could you provide a dropbox link or another filehosting link for those of us who cannot reach it over some issues, please?

Definitely going to have to instal these (If the links work) when I replay the first two games again.

I think I might go for a Soldier possibly. Already did a Vanguard and Engineer.

Hi, I am new here. Came across this post about improving me2 characters textures and decided to give texmod a try but I can't see any difference at all. I think texmod is not loading the textures at all. Why is that?

I've followed the steps about changing the file names of the exe files in order to have texmod running with origin but after choosing the texture files and clicking run. Everything looks the same ingame :( Why is my texmod not loading the highres textures? I really want the hires textures!! :( Help anyone?

I may be/sound greedy, but oh well, I saw this mod even before I bought the game, so I still never played it in a vanilla version xD! The mod worked like a charm from the first time I tried it, gorgeous!

I keep reading that you had an Ashley texture mod that made her look more like ME1/ME2 Ashley (sans all the makeup). I've recently finished an Ashley character mesh mod that gives her ME3 face the same contours/shape as her ME1 face. I'd love to apply your Ashley texture if it exists...

If ME2 loads right away when you click run then TexMod isn't doing it's thing.  I downloaded all the Ultra textures as I have a pretty beefy computer, and it took 7 minutes from when I hit run to when I actually was able to "Press a Key to Continue" in ME2.

If you aren't getting that it could be because of your naming of the files.  Here's what worked for me, I hope it helps you:

1. Renamed MassEffect2.exe to _MassEffect2.exe
2. Copied TexMod.exe to Binaries folder, renamed to MassEffect2.exe
3. Run ME2 from Origin, TexMod runs, choose ME2Game.exe, load textures and away we go... after 7 mins.

I've noticed the difference and that long delay is the key... it is painful but worth it.  It doesn't change all the textures in teh game, just character ones... but if you have Kasumi's DLC and use her textmod the alternate outfit is most definitely high res and is very noticable.  Looks awesome!

Are you getting the long run delay?

So the ME1 Texture Updates/Improvements mod has switched to a non-TexMod version, and it works perfectly! Any chance that this mod will do the same?

Does anyone still have the file for the Loyalty Colossus Armor texmod for Tali? All the links I've found through searching appear to be dead.

I downloaded all of the ultra textures and placed them into the Modifications folder for Texmod, but when I click on Run after selecting the textures, a popup appears that says (I'm legitimately serious):

"Sh*t Happened

D'OH"

^What the hell is this?

edit: the ultra downloads for the ME2 characters are also listed as .rar files. Texmod isn't taking them, saying that the files can't be opened.

Texmod only accepts packages labeled as .tpf

These files are in the .rar packets, you have to decompress them and extract the .tpf's within. Try WinRAR or 7-Zip for this process.

Hopefully that will also fix your "Sh*t Happened" error.

Has there been any progress in creating .mod files that permanently replace texture files in ME2, like has been done already for ME3? My PC is plenty powerful, but texmod still slams my frame rate.

Not as of yet. According to saltisgood or one of the others from the ME3Explorer forums, the package files in Mass Effect 2 are locked down tighter than the ones in Mass Effect 3. It might be a feature added in the future, but so far they haven't had much luck.

Bummer.

Unrelated; Are there any plans to release high res textures for the rest of the player's armor pieces? Jean Luc's N7 and Kestral armor textures look fantastic, but it still looks awful when you have high res arms and shoulders with a low res torso and legs (sometimes i like to mix up my armor just for the sake of having some variety) and vice versa. I've tried all kinds of texture packs from other modders, but nothing I've found matches the quality or appearance of Jean Luc's stuff, so the result is glaring differences in quality, regardless.

So I was using texmod and it was working great through Steam. My PC crashed and I had to do a clean install of windows all over again. Now when I try to use texmod it doesn't work.

I know where my binaries folder is and have renamed MassEffect2.exe to MassEffect2Game.exe and put texmod in as MassEffect2.exe, so that when I click play through steam it brings up texmod and I select MassEffect2Game.exe and load my textures.

My problem is that when I click run in texmod it tries to load ME2 through steam again which would bring up texmod but texmod is already running so it says Failed to start game. (App already running.) It worked fine before I reinstalled windows. Don't know what the deal is. Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

I also verified the game cache through Steam. All files were successfully verified.

Edit: Trying to run texmod by itself, not through steam client, doesn't load any of the texture packs. Not the optimized pack or the ultra characters. I have no clue why this isn't working anymore. It's a real bummer though.

Edit: SOLVED! Have to run Steam as administrator lol. For anyone who might have my same problem and doesn't know how to run Steam as administrator, First exit out of Steam completely. Go to C:\\Program Files\\Steam (C: is default, mine happens to be on the F: drive) and scroll down till you see Steam.exe. Right click Steam.exe and go to properties, once the properties window opens click on the Compatibility tab and click the box that says Run this program as administrator. Start Steam, I got a message saying it's not recommended to run Steam in Compatibility mode, which I wasn't, so I clicked cancel. Had Texmod set up to run through Steam and it all works perfectly now.

Since I got the ME bug and decided to play through again, I've got the courage to try the mods.
They look great! Thanks for making the faces, especially look so darn good! Jack's face is my fav so far.
So far both the Optimized and Ultra load just as fast as my regular unmodded game (a few seconds).
I'm sure my SSD drive and 32GB RAM are helping a lot.
For those curious here is my box stats.
i5 3750K Ivy
Samsung 830 SATA 3 SSD drive (primary OS/App drive)
32GB G.Skill Sniper
ATi Radeon 7870 2GB
Asus Mobo Z77 north bridge

I wasn't too happy with the Shepard_ME2 face mod that was floating around, but I really liked the face mod that CDAMJC created for ME1.  I was able to create a new Shepard mod for ME2 using the Hi Res textures CDAMJC created for ME1.  If anyone is interested in downloading it, let me know and I'll throw up a link, but only with CDAMJC's permission of course. :)

Here a link to an image comparison. Facial hair and lips look better, thicker eyebrows, and better facial detail.
