Has there been any progress in creating .mod files that permanently replace texture files in ME2, like has been done already for ME3? My PC is plenty powerful, but texmod still slams my frame rate.

Bump...

I have 2X 770 Classified 4GB SLI/ i5-2500k OC'd/16GB Win7 64bit with the game on an SSD... I shouldn't be having framerate issues. Texmod should be obsolete by now. I tried just using 1 single .tpf and it acted the same as having 40. Same consistent dip (Normandy CIC being the biggest culprit).

Hi I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I don't have enough time to look through 70+ pages :D

I have the Origin versions of ME 1 and 2. I've downloaded Texmod and the optimised pack. Following the retail instructions, I ran Texmod, then selected the ME1 .exe and selected the "OptimizedSquadmates_NonDLC.tpf" as a package (I had put it in the modifications folder of the Texmod directory). I then ran the game through texmod.

I noticed no change in game, so I guess I've done something wrong. Now I've moved on to ME 2 and have done the same thing for the ME 2 .exe, The problem is, as this is my first time playing the game, I can't tell if the mod is working or not, since the graphics seem like such an improvement over ME 1 anyway.

Hello,

I am new to modding and just bought the ME trilogy.

Could someone instruct me how to install the textures with Origin?

And how do I know the difference between ME1 .tpf 's and ME2?

With 78 pages to search for, I could not take on the task of trying to locate Origin installation instructions.

So, any help would be greatly appreciated.

(sorry about repeat post)

Hi

Hello,

For ME1 you can use this mod: http://forum.bioware...d-textures-mod/

It does not require Textmod, just install and play :)

Hi, I just got through beating ME1 with the MEUTIM mod installed, and I came across this mod when I was looking for some updated textures for ME2. I've been trying to get these to work and I know how to do the origin work around for Texmod, and that works, its just like the software isn't reading the textures. I cant tell if it is, because when I launch the game with all the textures selected the load time isn't any different. I've repeated the process about 10 times now and if anybody could help it would be greatly appreciated!

Here is a UHD vid of this mod in action with fraps.

UHD = ultra HD, 4k.

Shot at 3840x2160 resolution, on a samsung 50" TV, in game.

Using these 4k texture mods and ini/coalesced file tweaks.

(Any visible lag is due to fraps, The game runs very well.)

2x gtx 680 in sli. 4770k, both overclocked.

SLI isn't working in 4k fullscreen or windowed due to shitty nvidia drivers.

Had to run one gpu.

EDIT: Mass Effect 1 opening cutscene is ready:

Using the M.E.U.I.T.M. mod here:

http://www.moddb.com...mprovements-mod

ME2 opening scene available now here:

Mods used here: http://forum.bioware...racters-pc-mod/

ME 3 opening scene:

https://www.youtube....LM773oUIE6tBtO8

Mods used here:

http://forum.bioware...ination-3d-fix/

Redownloaded ME 1-3 and modded them all, with the best textures I could find, on a top end system.

It looks so amazing I had to show it off.

I'll likely post a clip from ME 1 and ME3 soon, modded @4k res.

I made all the corresponding tweaks to the inis as well.

Shadows res's, LODs etc.

I can actually play it too. Frame rates are totally playable. \o/

Love you guys.. idc.. Seriously love you guys.

Thank you for all the hard work on this series.

Donated to MEUITM,

you guys totally deserve it.

It is proving impossible to find a complete ME2 pack or working links. ME1 has a complete installer, ME3 is still being modded to this day. ME2 has little to no working links, no complete packs and very little to no guides for a complete modding experience :(
I got the Squad pack but unable to grab any loose ones. If anyone can reupload them that would be fantastic, thanks.

*Update as no idea if same files*

I cannot get TEXMOD to work no matter what I do. It really is a piece of ****. Is there any other way to install these textures such as you can do with the ME3 textures?

Ok, finally got this working with Origin version of ME2:

Using the batch script and instructions (but changing as following) from this site:

Download texmod and copy the TexMod.exe to your Binaries folder (e.g. E:\Games\Mass Effect 2\Binaries\)

Create a .bat file and edit using notepad (change the paths to where you have ME2 installed) My batch file is included below (I've tried to make it more clear on how to use it).

In order to run the game you need to use the batch script each time and you will know when it is working as it takes many minutes after clicking 'run' before anything happens. Thus:

  1. Run the batch script
  2. Point Texmod to the ME2Game.exe and choose your mods
  3. Tell the batch script to continue
  4. Press 'run in TexMod (takes minutes before running the game)

Hope this helps some people!

Hello,
I'm sorry if my question was already answered but I have a problem. I installed texture mods for ME2 but game never starts after I I installed those mods through TexMod. Does anyone here knows what could cause it?
Thank you for the answer.

All gamefront/filefront links are down. Have the files been moved to another site perchance?

Hello,

First lemme say this is an outstanding mod, although the method of using texmod is a bit of a hassle but nothing terrible.

Has any one experienced  a bug; in which during some cut-scenes (for me it was talking to the council) that certain textures do not appear.

For example, when i talked to the council the first time, they were not visible, in their place was a big square, that loooked like skin/mesh to someones armor or clothes(i want to say Mordin?)

is this a known bug or not?

any kind of work around? it is not gamebreaking by no means, just kinda annoying.

Thanks in advanced.

I tried this and I just keep getting the "**** Happened" Message and nothing loads... do you have any idea why it would do this?

EDIT:

I just found another forum post saying someone had trouble with their Antivirus so I just straight out uninstalled AVG and it works perfectly now.

For all you that lost the mods,

I found a mirror site were you can download them all.

I just downloaded them from that site and they are OK. ( No virus ore malware)

I do hope Jean Luc will reply again on his topic ..

Jean luc your textures are GREAT!

Thank You!

I'm having problems making the game work through Steam.

Every time I try, I set everything up according to the instructions given, but one of three things happens:

1. Steam brings up the "Preparing to launch Mass Effect 2..." box, but then closes it and does nothing else.

2. Nothing happens when I hit "Run" on TexMod.

3. (if I right click on TexMod and tell it to run as admin) Hitting "Run" on TexMod simply opens another TexMod window.

My friend who put me onto the texture mod had absolutely no problem installing it and getting it to work, but I just can't make it function no matter what I try to do.

I'm using the following set up (as copied from NVIDIA GeForce Experience):

GeForce GTX 660 Ti GPU

Intel Core i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50 GHz

10GB RAM

1920/1080 Resolution, 60Hz

and I'm using Windows 10 Pro as my OS.

I don't currently have any of the DLC either, if that makes any difference.

Does anybody have any ideas? Because as far as I can tell I'm doing everything right and the game just won't start, and I'm on the point of just giving up on the mod completely.

So where/how does one download/install these for ME2 on Origin?
