Hi,
I reinstalled NWN2 after a long hiatus and downloaded all the new expansions (MoTB, SOZ, MoW). I just finished the original campaign and had intended to import my character into MoTB, but it doesn't seem to work; the exported character does not show up in the select character list when I chose to start a new campaign in MoTB, SoZ, or MoW.
Strange thing is, the exported character does show up if I try to start a new original campaign.
Having no idea what to do, I decided to strip my character of all it's equipment and export him naked. I noticed at this point that an item in my inventory is permanently attached to my character (i.e., I can't drop it). This item is the Silver Shard: Mental Bonuses.
Could this item be conflicting with the import into the other campaigns?
Thanks for any help!

No, the silver shard will not prevent an import. I'll gp back through some old information and see if I can re-produce the problem. In the meantime, please post you system specs as discussed in Post System Information when starting a new topic or adding your problem to an existing topic.
Okay, I just went through and my own system and have no issues with importing any of my characters from my local vault (local vault in My Documents).
Okay, I have gone back through a whole bunch of characters I have played over the years and am not having difficulty with importing any of them into MoTB, and that includes a character being exported from MoW (which is an Adventure Pack; not produced by Obsidian).
So, I suspect that there might be an issue with your character file. I do recall, however, that once your character reached a certain point in the OC (NWN 2 Official Campaign) you cannot export the character in order to import the character into a new OC session.

Hi, sorry I forgot to post my specs, but I won't now since I believe I solved the problem.
I had used the toolset campaign editor to allow level 30 characters in the original campaign. I also changed the xp cap to 600,000 instead of 561,000 (don't know why I chose that number), and forgot I did that. I used the console to give xp and max out my character near the end of the campaign, and ended up with a level 30 character and 600,000xp. Since MoTB, SoZ, and MoW xp caps were still at 561,000, my character wouldn't import. I used the console to remove the xp from my character to below 561,000, exported... and now I can import into the other campaigns.
Thanks though for the effort you put into it. I feel bad for wasting your time. =)

No problem, we all have lived and learned NWN 2 by experimentation
