Hoping some of these exist and/or these problems are commen enough to have fixes. I have the OC + MotB + SoZ installed.
  • Any way to remove barkskin/etc visual effects? I looked at the Less Obtrusive Buff effects mod (which is nice) but it doesn't seem to include buffs that totally override your character's appearance (and make me cringe during cutscenes).
  • Reeron's spell fixes got installed because of a recommendation by someone. However, some are missing spell descriptions. I DID put the file in the My Documents version of the override folder (as the instructions say to). In fact I put all the files for that mod there...is that my problem? I don't really understand the difference between the two override folders.
  • This is silly, but any animal summon mods that makes the original druid companions into their spirit counterparts you run into in MotB (visually)?
  • EDIT: Oh yes. And are there any "plot fix" patches I need to fix plot bugs for the expansion (just a link please, no spoilers thanks. <3

I know there was something else I meant to ask but I'm blanking at the moment. P: Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, it's called "Alternate skin effects" or something like that. I think Haplose linked it in the Essential Add-ons sticky.

I have that problem too. I asked about it in the mod page but I got no response. Do you have the English version of the game or another one? Mine isn't English, so I thought that could be related, but maybe it's another thing.

Generally speaking, you should put everything in the My Documents folder, and not touch the Program Files one.

I suggest you to try Kaedrin's Pack, if only because it has a bunch of bug fixes (not plot ones AFAIK). On top of that, it adds new classes, spells, feats, and even animal companions, maybe not the ones you're looking for, but maybe you like them.

Ahah, I saw the Alternate Skin effects I think. I thought it did something else. *goes to hunt it down* Thanks!

And yeah, mine is in English. In that case I think maybe it's because I use the TonyK's AI mod...it does imply basically that the new version specifically for use WITH the AI mod isn't done yet.

Oh well. Not a game-breaker.

Kaedrin's pack gives spirit shamans an optional telthor wolf companion feat. It's for shamans only though, not druids.

Oooh, dang. I need to go check up on Spirit Shaman compatibility, lol. Would a splash level do it or would I need several levels? (Or do I have to start out as one...)?

It scales with shaman levels I think so picking up a few levels wouldn't work.

Telthor Companion

Type of Feat: class

Prerequisite: Spirit Shaman 4.

Specifics: A Telthor wolf companion may be summoned (and unsummoned) by the character. An unsummoned companion can be recalled after a short cooldown time. If the companion is killed, it cannot be summoned again until the spirit shaman rests. Note that a spirit shaman's effective level is level - 3 for determining their telthor companion's abilities and hit dice and only Spirit Shaman and Feywild Warden levels count. Natural Bond and Epic Animal Companion can increase your companion's hit dice. Warning: Taking Telthor Companion will prevent any other companion type (such as Dinosaur, Magical Beast, or Dragon) from being used.

Use: Selected.

Well, thanks much for the specifics. Damn. May rethink my concept. I tried playing a Warlock...and got reeeeeeally tired of spamming Eldritch Blast (I know they get a few more tools at higher levels, but I was starting the OC). =/ Going from a bard to that I was supremely bored, so I decided to give a druid a go since I'd never tried to play the "neutral" path and I'd never done anything with animal empathy/nature themes/etc.

Okay. Built shaman, took Telthor Companion as a feat at level 6...now. uh. How do I summon it? =/ I don't see the feat in my feat list when I open my character up, nor is it a spell/etc.

Sorry, can't help you with your problem, Sarielle, as I have never played a Spirit Shaman.

But I do want to commend your class choice. Druids are a very interesting and fun class to play. I suppose Spirit Shamans are a bit weaker, but then again have a lot of flavour going for them too.

Definately should be much more fun then a Warlock.

And about the fixes for MotB, I'm not aware of any. Though Kaldor Silverwand is preparing a MotB SoZ edition Makeover and he just might include some fixes there as well (or not, I'm not sure). He hasn't finished it yet, though.

sorry to say .. my Telthor Companion in MotB seems to be working fine - although if I remember right I wiped out a different Feat with the console and then added in '3704'

DebugMode 1

GiveFeat 3704

DebugMode 0

the Feat shows up at the top o' the list under General Feats.

oh, and if you haven't found a suitable VFX-debuff pack, I just recently posted to the Essential Add-ons sticky, some links for no-VFX (Haplose here covered the reductions, the new ones deal with complete removal). I'm using a bit of both ..

umm, lastly .TLK files go in MyDocs->NWN2 folder (not the Override folder with the rest of files) - that should get the spell descriptions to show up ingame (I believe it has to be copied to ProgramFiles->NWN2 to get them in the Toolset).

Did that. Got the "give feat gained: Telthor
Companion" message (so it was supposedly successful) but it's,
uh...still not showing up anywhere under feats under my character page. I
can see all my class/race feats etc. but it's not there. Is there some
other place to look at my feat list? I'm really afraid I'm being dense.

EDIT: And thanks Ark...I saw that thread title actually but was afraid it'd be spoiler heaven so I was too chicken to click, heh.

My NWN2 OC Makeover SoZ Edition http://nwvault.ign.c...h.Detail&id=393 adds some of the SoZ features into the OC, like the ability to create a party, improved death and dying, and additional crafting options. Plotwise it corrects a small number of bugs and provides an alternate plot path regarding one pivotal character in the game.

It is not completely compatible with Kaedrin's PrC mod though because he modifies some of the same scripts. If both the Makeover and Kaedrin's are installed then because of the way the Makeover is installed Kaedrin's scripts will take precedence.

I also doubt that the "Plot fixes" recently released by WRFan are fully compatible since he changes many scripts and conversations.

I am planning to release an updated version of the OC Makeover very shortly that will allow user customization of its default functionality by simply editing a 2da file using a text editor.

I am also currently working on a MotB Makeover that adds SoZ features to MotB and provides an alternate plot path for one of the characters that is present in both the OC and MotB.

I don't want to give away any spoilers, so I'll stop there. More information about the Makeover is available on its Vault page.

Regards

2 ways to quote, use the handy button in the bar at the top of your post window (before you post!) you just pick the person's post you wish to quote and click "Quote" and when you have the post window open, you can edit the quoted portion.

In the alternative, you can copy paste the section you wish to quote and surround the section with the bbcode tags for quotes, which are brackets [ ] with the word "quote" inside at the start and /quote at the end. I'd show you directly, but if I did, all you'd see is a quoted section that's 'empty.'

It appears TonyK's AI was causing the problem. I removed everything else one by one (minus stuff like adding extra heads/united colours) and that was the problem.

-sigh- Maybe I had an old version? That mod makes playing SO much more fun.

EDIT: Appears I did just accidentally grab the wrong version. It works now. <3 <3 <3

Thanks for all the patience, guys :D

Yeah, I'm really excited I don't have to back all the way up. It was interfering with some VERY important campaign-related skills, too.

I do have one more mod-related question. How can I rename my companion? I have the gff editor thingie.

In your savedgame folder, find a file called playerlist.ifo.  Open this in gffeditor.  Expand the tree and find an entry called  CompanionName.  Edit that to your heart's content and save.

Standard Disclaimer - ALWAYS back up before using any editor.

Oh wow. I was expecting it to be something cryptically named, lol. I could probably have figured that out myself with a little poking around.

Okay. One more GFF question (sorry for double-post but I was afraid no one would look again if I didn't P: )

Okay. A long time ago I was able to use notepad and the appearance.2da file to make a petite aasimar: (very old thread here)

I tried that trick to make a squirrelly tiefling, but it's not working now (maybe a mod interferes, or a patch, I dunno). Anyhow. Is there a way to do this with the GFF editor? Keep in mind you're dealing with a super novice...soo if there is, please speak slowly and use small words, lol.

So the short of it: I want to use the elf body model on a tiefling, which uses the human by default. I know how to switch the heads/hair around already (I just made a human with the head/hair I wanted and compared the two to make necessary changes) but I can't figure out what field(s) to use for the body type.

Help plox. :)

EDIT: Also I don't have the field you're describing for the animal companion (that I can see). It IS part of a custom mod, Kaedrin's pack...it's the Telthor Companion, default name is "Spirit of the Land"...is there any way to search for something in particular in the GFF editor? (IE I know the default name, I could search for that if possible).

hi S.
look for "AssociateList", dig down in there and you'll find "FirstName" & "LastName".

As to appearance.2da .. do a search of your Override(s) to make sure there's only *one* (of course). I'm no modeler, but I see that starting at the 6th column there are numbers for Scale X / Y / Z, and starting at the 10th column are entries for Model_Body, _Helm, _Head, _Hair, _Skeleton stuff. Couldn't you just swap out the entries for Tiefling with the corresponding entries for Elf ..? I don't believe it can be done in a GFF editor, although there are entries there for ModelScale (which sounds like fun, heh).

--
here's a plug for Pains Monster Pack, which is mainly for use by modders, but in its Description there's a link to his merged appearance.2da, which if I'm not mistaken is *the* comprehensive .2da to start with.

(edit: corrected filename of .2da)

Hmm. I will look for the AssociatedList bit. Thanks :)

As for a second appearance.2da, I did look/do a search. I couldn't find a second one (I actually thought of that, go me!) So, I dunno. I guess I could always just scale down the model using the GFF editor if worse comes to worse. I tried replacing the tiefling entries with the elf bits (like I'd done with the aasimar before) but no dice. Which makes me think there IS a second appearance.2da somewhere that I'm overlooking.

Ugh. P:
