On the Mass Effect wiki article for UNC: Depot Sigma-23, it says "Even if you investigate this mission after completing other missions relating to Cerberus, your party
will still ask about Cerberus as if they've never heard the name
before, indicating this is meant to be the first time you learn of
Cerberus." But then the very next sentence says that if you do this assignment after obtaining the UNC: Cerberus assignment, your party members will say things like "Cerberus, damn we should've known" and "Cerberus, I've just about had it with them." Isn't that a contradiction?
Just how obvious is it that this is supposed to be the first time you've encountered Cerberus? What exactly does your party say? Finally, if this is supposed to be the first Cerberus assignment, is there a preferred or logical order to complete the assignments in? Here's a list for reference.
Missing Marines
Investigate Samples/Colony of the Dead
Cerberus
Hades’ Dogs
Listening Post Alpha
Listening Post Theta
Depot Sigma-23
Doctor at Risk/Dead Scientists
What order do you think makes the most sense to complete these assignments in?

Hades' Dogs last, I suppose, but any of them could be the first.

Toombes mentions someone destroyed Ceberus' base which I guess refers to Hades' Dogs, though I've always done that quest before meeting Toombes.
I know with the crazy-Rachni-depot quest Kaidan says something like "Cerberus? Is that some sort of company?", I guess the other squadmates say similar things. It may just be a dialogue bug that the squadmates don't recognise Cerberus, Bioware can be quite weak on the bug-fixing front.
