So, why did you broke the rule "no two characters with one name in title", Bioware? Remember that tale about Aveline (the first woman-knight of Orlais) that Leliana told us in DAO? Or is she somehow connected with her?

Aveline isn't very feminine looking. Not into the idea of a warrior tank with no armor on. Does everyone from Orlai or heritage have red hair?

The other Aveline is long dead. Did you even listen to the story?

Damn. Moments like this I hate being out all day on errands and what not. Just got back and saw the reveal. Awesome! She is every bit the kind of Strong, Valorus, and Stalwart Female Knight I was hoping for. Her quote on the Bio is outstanding. As much as I love Leliana, and I do, I wished we had been given a character more like Aveline in DAO as opposed to just the Emo Witch and Leli (I won't say anything negative about the later...though in truth I can't think of anything. Like I said, I loved her)

It's always been a strange kind of irony. In Mass Effect, we were given a Strong, and near-chivalrous warrior character in Ashley Williams, but from the start my focus had been on Tali even though she wasn't Romancible in ME. Then, in DAO, I yearned for a Strong Female character and instead only got the aforementioned two. Now, with DA2, Gaider and Company have given us the Female Knight. So, of course, I'm sure the writers are going to reveal one more romancible female character that will catch my attention much like Tali. Darn you BioWare!

 Now, THIS, is what I have been looking forward to; the characters. The staple of any BW game. Can't wait to meet her! I am so excited we actually get a real tough girl as a companion! So excited!!!

Aveline and Isabela are the best female characters I've seen in ages. They are attractive without being over the top, and they are badass. A knight, a pirate, and a mage--somebody decided to make the female characters more well-rounded this time, and it gives me this warm, fuzzy feeling of anticipation that I love.

The Gallows are really forbidding. Fascinating. I'm very much looking forward to exploring this new part of the world.

Awesome! A female warrior who looks like she's strong and bad-ass enough to cause terror on the battlefield. It's nice to see a female character who has another body type beyond 'slender and overly-shapely.' Hoping that the actual in-game representation is as good as the concept art!

Uh, female here but I don't think either female character is attractive. I hope they do much better with the male LI because if I were a guy, I wouldn't go for either of them.

Her father was a chevalier and wanted her to follow suit, right? I think Leliana said that female chevaliers in Orlais take the name of Aveline sometimes as a sort of patron saint thing. Maybe Aveline's father just jumped the gun and had her named that at birth with the idea that she'd be a chevalier later.

Personally, I really like the sound of her... so long as that apron's only her starting outfit. She looks tough. Aveline's probably one of the few characters (besides your siblings) who I'm hoping is not a LI, because I find that whole dead spouse thing difficult to compete with. It was the same with Thane (ME2) and Sky (Jade Empire). They'd be talking about their dead wives, and I'd feel back for flirting with them.
