Just curious has Bioware said at all how we get around Kirkwall? Is it like Denerim where you get a city-map and hope around to different places in the city. Or is it more open?

You have a city map to go around to sections of the city... which are sometimes large districts, spots within those districts that you've already found (and thus opened up as a destination on the city map) or specific instances of areas that you need to visit for an open quest but which aren't normally accessible.

Will there be areas that are generally open, but close down after a completed quest? Gaxkang from the Unbound quest comes to mind as a location we are allowed to access althroughout the game, but which closes once the available quests in that region shut down (at least I'm pretty sure it did).

Gax was accessible through the entire game.

Gaxkang's area, the...Dirty Back Alley? Was that it? Not that locked hovel. I'm pretty sure it closed down after all of the quests in that area were finished...relatively sure.

Probably. I can't think of anything specific like that, but there's certainly nothing preventing us from doing it.

I usually do my Gaxkang killin' after all of the main quests are done, up to the Landsmeet. I've killed him four times now.

I'm saying the Dirty Back Alley closed down after you defeated Gaxkang, who is in the hovel thing. The hovel was in the Dirty Back Alley. I know it was locked, but the area surrounding it was still there. Until you completed the quest.

I think.

I wanna visit the Slave Driver Memorial!

'This monument honours the proud men and women who served as the slave drivers of the Tevinter Imperium, who built the foundation of our great empire on the backs of others. Their dedication to oppressing the subjugated will not be forgotten.'

A simple question: Baldur's Gate and Denerim. Wich one is more closer to the way Kirkwall is designed?

Soo...I'm guessing similar to Athkatla from BG2's layout, where the city map took you to districts (Temple, Docks, etc.) but there were also locations within those districts like temples, sewers, underground vampire lair of ultimate eviltude, etc.

Here's crossing my fingers that Kirkwall can meet or top Athkatla for favorite video game city :)

You are correct. Once you defeat Gaxkang the Alley is inaccessible.

Do you think that all of Kirkwall is available from the start of the game?
Or will we unlock new area's of the city as we progress farther into the game, like DA:O.

Also, do you think parts of the city will change over the ten year storyline?
