Well it is wrong because there is a chance that the ME2 PS3 version may be able to output at 1080p, but seeing as ALOT of new PS3 titles are scaled to 720p regardless of what "Display Settings" you use, and the same Xbox 360 games are capable of being scaled to 1080p, I wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 version had a maximum display setting of 720p. If so, I'm confident the Xbox 360 version, scaled by the Xbox 360 console to 1080p, will look much sharper.

I will repeat myself, BOTH consoles have the ability to upscale to 1080p, upscaling an image is not all that difficult to do.  What is difficult to do is to RENDER the image at 1080p now neither console will be able to do that.  It isn't something to be advised either the quality of the image will be worse if you upscale a 720p image to 1080p and I sure as hell wouldn't describe it as "will look sharper".   There is a world of difference between a1080p upscaled image and a 1080p natively rendered image (us PC gamers are used too).

Aside from all this there is no reason why the PS3 version shouldn't be 720p just like the xbox 360.  It has even been indicated in the latest OPM magazine that this is the case :-

OPM .........
The developers promise that they are not taking any shortcuts” Oftentimes when you got to the PS3 you see stuff like down-resing and using a smaller than 720p resolution to try and get back some of the framerate. We haven't done that says producer Jesse Houston, we really wanted to try to make it as good, if not better than the Xbox version."

I know both consoles can upscale games to 1080p, the difference is that the Xbox will upscale everything to 1080p if you have 1080p as the display setting in "System Settings", the PS3 won't as evident from the majoritory of PS3 games already released for the console. If you own a PS3 you can test it on Killzone 2, Uncharted, Infamous, Motorstorm, Little Big Planet, Modern Warfare 2... the list goes on and on, only a few games like Wipeout HD will display at 1080p. What I'm saying is that I bet ME2 on PS3 will be among the the list of games that will only display at 720p and below, and 1080p won't be an option.

They might have added some slight interface conveniences but they did an utterly dreadful job porting the game itself. My computer runs ME2 easily, but groans at the thought of running ME1.

I had three systems, ME1 ran fine for me with no compatibility issues on all of them. There were some slowdowns attributable to greater onscreen content (like on the Citadel Presidium), but never in combat. I had no problems launching biotic attacks in real time, without ME2's lame auto-aim. Hardware was nothing special at the time (Oct. 2008), AthlonX2 4200+ and Radeon X1900XT Crossfire.

ME2 runs more smoothly, but it does so by simplifying some content. For example, the Presidium is now inaccessible. On Illium, how many doors did you have to go through to get to the Eternity bar ?
