People seem to be using the staff as proof that that is Hawke, but what about the armor? In one screenshot Hawke is in the armor from the Destiny trailer, but in the next he's wearing that very un-Hawke like armor.

My guess it's because it's not actually ingame screenshots as much as screenshots made by (or for) marketing for the purposes of being recogniceable. So all characters are wearing what we already know about them. Hawke gets iconic blood-mage armour. Carver, Bethany, Aveline, Isabela gets the outfits we've already seen them in. Because the entire point is to make them stand out and look distinct.
So specifically for this they look the same as they've done in all instances so that we at a glance, without any ambiguity can say: "Ah, that's Aveline" or "That's Hawke" (as long as we get a decent look at them).

So we're not to take this as indication that this is exactly what they'll look like at that particular stage in the story.

I might be wrong of course. But only time will tell.

You couldn`t change the armours of your companions in Planescape torment either. Look how that turned ou. Voted the best rpg ever made all over the place.

How is this a logical argument? I doubt that the game won that title because the companions never changed their clothes.

He is saying that it won the title in spite of that.

That's still an illogical argument. No one is saying that the lack of armor/armor choices will inherently make DA2 a bad game, just that it makes a less good game.

I was just explaining Rawgrm's argument to Aermas since he comepletely misunderstood. And with  the frequency at whitch Aermas brings up this topic, it's not unreasonable to believe that this is a big deal to him/her.

(Him :)) I keep bringing it up because I keep seeing characters that don't wear armor, two of them being warriors. I like realistic games & I liked how Origins handled armor. I'm not opposed to unique looks, I just want their unique looks to incorporate armor. If I want to play a flashy game wear I can have a girl in dress soak 5000pts of damage I'll play Final Fantasy.

Sorry but I have to agree with Aermas here.

Unique looks are all fine and dandy (hell I loved PST) but a tank character wearinng an apron armor bare armed, cloth pants and a little shirt to protect anything but her nipples? Uh...no thanks.....that is assuming she does not change into something more sensible as soon as humanly possible
