So what if I told Allistair that I'd stay in Denerim (with Leliana of course, who I was seeing, unbeknownst to Morrigan) and then tell Morrigan that I'd go with her through the other side of the portal at the end of Witch Hunt (presumably unbeknownst to Leliana). Since we all know that EVERY SINGLE choice made in DAO is going to have a serious impact in DA2, how will it recognize this contradiction (or the numerous others created by Awakening)?

Which leads me to the following conclusion: In DA2, you guys have little to NO INTENTION of showing the effects of the choices which the Warden made that strictly concerned his future (besides the ultimate sacrifice). Whatever choices we made for the Warden concerning the Warden won't matter at all. You intend to stay as far away from this subject as possible. It makes plenty of sense. The reason there was no problem in bringing the Warden back to life in Awakening is because the Warden will be luckly to get so much as a couple of vague references. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Allistair (for the players who had their Warden romance him) completely avoid the topic of her when he makes his cameo appearance. The same applies for Leliana and probably Morrigan when she inevitably shows up again.

The Bannorn will not bow to you simply because you demand it!

Check your plot flags with the toolset if you're that concerned.

Did they say that all the choices will matter? Maybe only a few key ones should matter, for that matter.

Not all choices I suppose, but I'd like to think that the ones which we made concerning our Warden should hold significance. Of course, I'd at very least like a cameo appearance of the Warden as well.

Where you tell them you'll go during the epilogue celebration will probably be ignored, yes. You can't take the ship to Seheron with Sten and then still be around for Awakening.

Since the *Warden* won't be making a reappearance in DAII, the choices that we'll be seeing effects of are likely to be BIG things like, who did you pick to be King of Orzammar, not which particular chick did you decide to snuggle with.

And just because you SAID you planned to do X, Y, and Z with Leliana or Zevran or Sten doesn't mean that your Warden actually DID any of those things. If you decided to play through Awakening and the other DLC's, it's pretty apparent that what, in fact, your Warden did was to go to Amaranthine.

People say they intend to do stuff that they never actually do all the time.

You can go with Sten to Seheron? Huh. He never gave me that option. Of course, I could never get to 100% with him. But yes, the plot holes in Awakening (and other DLCS) make sense on the basis that the devs wouldn't have to deal with them in DA2. Whoever wrote the stories for the DLCS got to go crazy.

I'm not sure why Hawke would care about the little details of the Warden's life but they have said already big decisions will carry over. They've pretty much ruled out the Warden showing up due to the new art style/voiced protaganist.

Hmmm...Perfect, you should change the title.

Devs usually ignore titles like "I demand, I want..." and that kind of stuff.

The Warden won't be appearing in DA2 because of the change in art style and graphics. This is confirmed. And the Warden's choices of sexual companions would hardly have any impact on the world at large I should think.

The major decisions-- like if we helped the Dalish or sided with the Weres, helped Behlen or Harrowmont, etc... I think those are the decisions with ramifications that will carry over into the next game. I can imagine that some of the smaller decisions that we made could possibly pop up and that would be a nice surprise.

But as for the Warden, I think the situation you're talking about is a "warden-specific" issue and not a Thedas-issue. DA2 is Hawke's story, and those decisions you're so concerned about aren't important in the grand scheme of things.

Maybe one day they'll bring the Warden back, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it. :wizard:

Here's the thing: Not only did the Warden say he intended to do X, but the epilogue STATED he did X. In my epilogue, it said I lived with Leliana in Denerim.

And yes, I'm guessing we're only going to be seeing the BIG things, but it sure is a shame (IMO). The warden was our character and one we're mostly interested in. I think he should be an exception and hope Im wrong about what I suspect.

Forget your Warden's own personel choices, they are yours only. DA2 isnt about the Warden, only the choices he/she made to the land, not him or herself.

/edit And ofcourse Witch Hunt, walk the mirror or not!. xD

Leliana upest that Perfect-Kenshin went through the mirror with Morrigan, decided to write one more grand ballad and jumped off the top of Fort Drakon.

I don't quite understand the issue; you tell Alistair that you will remain in Denerim, but then you're called away on some adventure (Witch Hunt) and, when forced to re-evaluate your plans, you instead choose to follow Morrigan. I guess Alistair and Leliana assume you're dead when you never return?

If you told Alistair and Leliana you were going to stay with them in Denerim but then physically stepped through a magical portal with Morrigan there is no contradiction. You simply lied.

The only contradiction I can think of is the problem they worked themselves into a corner by ignoring the ultimate sacrifice in Awakening. Did the warden live or not?

I don't think art/style/graphics are as big as a deal as you're making it out to be. Laidaw himself said that major characters from the first game who were showing up again were going to resemble their younger selves (i.e Allistair and probably Leliana, based on one of the implied points from Laidaw) as much as possible. It's okay to change Isabela's character since she was pretty much no better than a random NPC in DAO.

And yeah, the Warden's sex life doesn't have a major impact on Thedas, but it does have a major impact on players, considering they played as him throughout a whole game. Although the Warden should be uterly insignificant in DA2, that isn't reason to sweep him under the rug. I'm sure Allistair is essentially irrelevant too, but he is getting a cameo nonetheless.
