What ONE thing has you worried about Dragon Age II?

Been thinking about this a bit...I think that my main concern is NPC reactivity to PC actions. Now, we got a bit of this with Sten (fighting us near Haven) and Leliana and Wynne (Sacred Ashes), but then you have no reaction to things such as using Blood Magic (or even giving Morrigan or Wynne the specialization). With the way it is talked about within the world, there should be a reaction to the PC or the mage NPC's getting/using Blood Magic from Wynne and Alistair. So, long story short, I would like to see more NPC reactions to PC actions...

Well, let's see... Human only PC, apparently forgetting Witch Hunt, voice acting and dialogue wheel, horrible darkspawn designs (why??????).... No, if i have to stick with one, it would be the companion clothing.

When i play RPGs like Dragon Age i like to change how me and my partners look, not only to suit my tastes, but to simulate their level progression. It's a great part of the game for me and one of my main complaints of the original DA, which had absolutely horrible armor design overall (and 70% of the equipment in the game were color swaps of previous ones).

What you guys are doing with DA2 is, for me, lazy design. It does not add uniqueness to their characters, as my companions will (and the lack of a toolset does not help) look exactly the same as for every other player. It will feel like i'm playing Final Fantasy all over again (Put more belts and zippers in there and i'll know you guys hired Tetsuya Nomura). It also brings realism problems, like the "+5 thong of resistance", but i think that isn't what you guys are going for here.

Anyway, i don't know if this will have any impact on the directions you guys are taking, with only 4 months until the release, but it's a major turnoff for me and i hope you provide a much toolset later so we can at least hide this issue and many others we may find.

I'm worried that Hawke will be too much like Mass Effect in regard to the Player Character. In Mass Effect, the game was designed around a central character, Shepard, and since the story was centered around Shepard, that worked out well. But in Dragon Age Origins, we truley felt that we had created our own Warden, and that sense of creating your own character to interact with Thedas is one of the things I feel that makes Dragon Age so great. I'm worried that we will feel that we are "playing" Hawke, instead of a character of our own creation to interact with the story, which is a diffrence between Mass Effect and Dragon Age that i feel should be kept diffrent.

That things taken away from the first game i.e multiple races, multiple origins etc will make the game harder to enjoy and lose replay value.

The lack of gameplay videos. The Witcher II will be released in the end of 2011. Just look up for their content allready available to the public...(gameplay footage, very nice in depth interviews with the creators, chars revelations, etc....

I'm afraid that there hasn't been enough development time. No offense to the work ethic of the developers, but a year anda a half doesn;t seem like enough time for a game the size of Dragon Age 2. I atctually wouldn;t be upset if the game was delayed for a couple more months, which is what I think they should do. This would result in sooo much more precious development time.

No s/s romance. :(

Well, we all know that Jack and Thane were supposed to be romanced by both FemShep and MaleShep, but BioWare decided to cut these romances down. I really don't want something like that happening in DA2.

This.

And that it will be more 'action' than rpg. I like stories more than fighting on the whole.

That it will be too short and thus the story not as deep and engagins as DA:O.

I am very concerned with "class balance" and the skill trees.  Origins was not even close to balanced; Archery was extremely lacking and melee Rogues were more of a chore than a good time -- which is somewhat being addressed.

It was not only pointless, but boring to play a "tank" Warrior when a "DPS" built Warrior with 1-2 threat abilities eclipsed a true defensive Warrior by the sheer virtue of simply making things die so much faster and being able to pull aggro MUCH faster.

Mages were completely lopsided and god among gods and the physical classes didn't even come close until the expansion, but were still overshadowed.

I want replayability from a gameplay perspective, not just dialogue or "RP" purposes.  In this kind of game, the actual gameplay is just as important as the story -- arguably moreso on consecuitive playthroughs.  For there to be any gameplay replayability there has to be more than one compelling skill tree per class and there also has to be some kind of parity among classes.

The lack of information all around. We've had a total of 2 intro trailers, 3 character releases, and 2 area releases yet have less than 4 months to release! We don't even have much info on our new companions! That is very very limited and not sure what to think. I know that reveals are a slow process, but with limited time, it would be nice to know what we're going to invest our time and hard earned money into. Time seems to be running thin, we've gotten nothing new from preview reviews and there is hardly any new information to look at. You keep saying the game is awesome, well then show us. We have no information, yet have limited preorder time for the sig edition.

Definitely the paraphrasing of dialogue options. It was my biggest complaint about ME since Shepard always said something completely different to what I wanted. I want a middle ground, like this thread suggests:

My main concern is that the tactical element to the game's combat system will be de-emphasized due to the changes. When the game's motto is apparently "something awesome always happens when you press a button" it's hard to imagine a system where the player really needs to think very hard when approaching a combat scenario. Basically all the pre-release info I've seen makes me think the game may have just been dumbed-down rather than been changed for the better. I want a system where something awesome happens if I press the right buttons at the right time. It's not very satisfying to try and actually play a game well if the effort in doing so is not rewarded with an appropriate increase in the results of those efforts.

Please let there be epic, high end weapons of every type. Swords got very boring in DA:O.
I understand that swords are very great weapons in reality and are good for many reasons, but i would love to see some high end Axes, Mauls, Polearms, etc.. Oh, and maybe a tower shield or two

Thank you for possibly reading this.

Edit: basically, my concern is this: Swords stole the show in DA:O please let there be weapon diversity on the high end

Well, since I have to choose. My concern is the "class balancing", its great Bioware wants to clearly differentiate between the classes, but it feels more like my character is being pigeon-holed.

My first problem was the removal of the DW for the warrior, which made no sense to me, since why would a warrior only walk around with either a giant 2H weapon or a sword and shield? Isn't the warrior supposed to be a master of weapons and can I have some more options or am I reduced to playing a warrior Bioware's way?

I really want to know EXACTLY what content will effect Dragon Age 2 and some clarification in what way.

Examples: What if you only played DA:O? What if you played DA:O and just Witch Hunt? What if you played just DA:O and Awakening? What if you played all 3? Did order of completing witch hunt/awakening effect DA2?

Plus, I want to see the game running the battle system on PC, so I can see what to expect.

Just one thing after summing up everything on previous pages: RETARDNESS.
That's what I'm worrying about, yep.

Could be worse.  They could have made the system a 'Wheel of Fortune'.  Imagine all the fun that would have ensued.

I am quite concerned that mages will once again be forced to wear condoms on their head. Also, I'm worried that DA: II will be as bugged as Awakening (and to a lesser extent Origins). But mainly the condom headgear thing.

I'm worried about forced outfits. I hated the armor for companions in ME2, and I'm hoping that DA2's companions don't get designated outfits with a couple recolors. I don't want companions to be forced to wear chain-mail bikinis.

I have a strong feeling that we will be made to pay for new outfits like in ME2.

I am concerned about losing saved games. Or more specifically losing all the crucial decision making that took 40-50 hours to compile which gets carried accross to a sequel. Especially if you've played multiple times to experience and compare different outcomes, like me. Saving games to the My Documents folder is great because it gets included in windows backup, but i've still lost all of my DA and ME1 + 2 saves twice before. Some sort of final character export file hosted on a cloud specifically for preserving your decision making for future sequels would be great.
