Several things I would like more info on, my key ones have be covered several times so I will vote for this one

1. knowing more about itemization in DA2 - by that I mean the whole inventory, hawke and companion equipment, the unique look aspect for companions and how much flexibility there is in the overall itemization system to change/enhance/reinforce roles in the game across hawke and the npc's.

Can I make a rogue single target tank, or a melee focussed mage etc etc. How flexible is the system, same, less or greater than DAO, how much can I tweak appearance. I don't want to play dress ups but having some degree of input and control is good.

I know you said only one point, but I just have to ask.....

Will there be cake?

My concern is that there wont be enough time to enjoy boss fights.

The fight will be over too quickly, so the moment wont sink in, in dao you killed quickly or you were killed quickly (while game is paused doesnt count)

I'm worried that there won't be same sex romance options. With the recent advent of ME2 and cutting out all same sex romances.

Note I do not count the Kelly Chambers character from the game as a legitimate lesbian romance. And LotSB was a DLC that only addressed the Liara storyline.

I feel that DA2 will not give us gay and lesbian gamers same sex romance.

So I am concerned that Bioware will do what it did with ME2 and cut out all same sex romance content.

THE PC VERSION:

How is it going to actually play to the strengths of the PC as a platform and how, specifically, is the PC version of Dragon Age II going to be a better PC game than Dragon Age: Origins?

Pretty broad, but specific things like having robust hotkeys, being able to scroll through menus and such with the mouse wheel, how the new Tactical camera will work on PC, whether or not the textures on the PC will be gimped by the console memory limitations like ME2 was (having good head textures that turn into a muddy mess below the neck), DRM, possible Direct X 11, all of those sorts of PC-centric questions.

Basically, despite claiming that Dragon Age II is being developed "simultaneously" across all 3 platforms, Origins was built as a PC game first and it felt like it- is Dragon Age II on PC going to feel or look like its been handcuffed by the technical limitations of the consoles?

Pretty much this, especially when relating to the camera mode.  Stripping out of the top down mode is pretty much the first nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned.  I do have a laundry list of other things, but PC game play is at the top.

Thanks for asking, Chris.

I'd like to see an area of the game that really shows off the new "visual hotness" that has been pumped into the engine.

I'm almost completely optimistic about the game but this is still a great idea for a sticky.

My one issue would be companion outfits. I don't have an issue with them like some, but I do worry that only having one outfit per companion over the whole ten years will take away from the impact the passage of time should have on the player. We've been told there are some exceptions, but that could mean one or two characters and is a bit vague. Obviously to tell us too much would involve spoiling plot elements, but that is the only major concern I have nonetheless.

I'm concerned about how relationships with other characters within the game is going to work. For example if you are romancing someone, lets say Isabela, you are at "Adore" level with her, then suddenly you jump to another point along the time line, a year or so infront. Will you relationship status change at all? Alot can happen within a year. The same for friends, would you become say "Best Freinds" and not just "Friends" as time progress's.

Just curious.

Thanks for asking, Mr. Evil.

My main concern would be slow patches and no toolset release.  If it will take a very long time to address the bugs and problems in the game, please give the community the tools to fix them.

It's pretty awesome you guys are doing this thread Priestly. I have NEVER seen anyother game company do anything of the sort. The most they say is something akin to "Tough luck, you'll have to wait till you play it"

My major concern is character interactions and history. I can live with every other major changes (most of which have already been addressed in the thread) that DA2 has made but only if it delivers a great amount of interactions and possibilities to make different gameplays enjoyable.... since we are lacking the different origins

Unlike many here I don't enjoy DA's battle system. What keeps me playing is the character interaction, decision making and other story elements, something that was VERY lacking in the DLCs for the game.

So I guess what I'm looking for is some assurance that DA2 isn't a game with 2 hours worth of story content and 25 hours of battle filler. I want to know that the characters are as deep --if not deeper-- than DA:O's, that there's not just binary solutions to problems ala Mass Effect, and that my decisions actually mean something and won't just be erased the second an expansion or new DLC comes out.

OK, I know I'm cheating there: I just want assurances that the story hasn't suffered as a result of trying to meet an early 2011 street date.

Kind of concerned about the new armor and weapon system. If there could be a demonstration video showing some of it that would be much appreciated.

The way the gameplay has been described as 'hack n slash' i don't want DA2 to feel like one of the LoTR games on the PS2. I want the combat to be tough, tactical and rewarding just like it was in the first game but with a much quicker pace, DA1 did feel like it was in slow motion at times.

BTW you guys have some big brass balls for asking this, i know no other games developer that would do this. Then again you guys are the best for a reason.

My main fear is the direction in which the series is heading. I don't mean the art style, or combat specifically (although I'd like to see the Arcane Warrior make a reappearance), but rather the direction of the overarching story.

Mass Effect 1 was a great game and I consider Mass Effect 2 to be even more so, but prior to launch one thing I found myself unable to comprehend was why the focus of the game shifted from 'Killing Reapers' to 'Help Cerberus fight the Collectors who are taking human colonies'. In much the same way, the shift from the Warden's story to Hawke's in Kirkwall/the Free Marches is very jarring, especially given the cliff hanger ending to Witch's Hunt. It feels like our first story isn't finished, yet we're starting a new one with no indication of when the first will be concluded or how the two may even be tied together.

I know Bioware intends for our Origins files to transfer over to DA II, but will it have anywhere near the same impact? Anyone who has played DA: O will know who Morrigan is, but will running into her as Hawke have anywhere near the same meaning as meeting her as our orginal Warden, who was a close friend and a potential lover? Are all these Dragon Age saves going to do anything more than provide cameo roles for the original characters? It feels like any DA:O decisions which carry over will be more intended as an obligation to players of DA:O than because it actually fits within Hawke's story and I think that would be a waste of resources.

Edit: Like everyone else, I do have to give props to Bioware for making this thread. Period.

I'm worried that with all the "every time you push a button something awesome happens" DA2 will become God of War clone, a not the "spiritual successor of Baldur's Gate" like DA:O was.

Please show me, that my anxiety is unjustified. Show me that the strategy is still present in fights.

The companion's equipment system is probably my biggest concern, but I guess I got my answer with the podcast on this subject, even if I really dislike this answer.

On the unrevealed features, it's probably the lack of sidequest. The shot time of developpement of the game make me wonder about the quantity and quality of the side quests.

My biggest concern is that the decisions made during Origins will have little to no effect on the world, like it was with Awakenings. What I don't want to happen is that all I see about, say, the fate of the Circle Tower is that a few NPCs mention something different depending on how it turned out in Origins, and that's it. I don't expect every minor decision to have bearing on DA2 (like whether you kill the prisoner in Ostagar or not) but the major ones, like choosing Orzammar's king, between elves and werewolves, between saving the mages or annulling them, saving Redcliffe or leaving it to be destroyed, the person put on the throne and the boon you get at the end of the game. I understand that so many variables make this difficult, but I still don't want the significance of previous events to be written off as witty one-liners and then forgotten.

So, in case the above doesn't make sense, I'm worried the major choices made in Origins won't matter or have much significance in DA2.

I worry about the characters being less interactive like in mass effect (even more in me2 if you don't mind me saying so)  other than that, I could handle a more straightforward game, although that would still be a drawback.

There have been a lot of good concerns listed that I share but the one I most resonate with is:

I would very much like to see how the PC version will work with all the associated bells and whistles.

Besides PC version issues (ME2...), the combat feel. Not so much the visuals, although I think there was need for faster basic animations you´ve have gone too far with (IMHO) flashy stupid attack animations, but how fast it will feel, for example if there´ll be more but weaker enemies in normal encounters (that´s also my definition of h&s combat, rather than the mechanics).

My worry is that were forced to protect the humans like Mass Effect...again.

I mean, the inablility to choose a race, the redesigned darkspawn, the characters, being the biggest.

I mean, Flemeth is coming back....but that is about it.

Otherwise, all I see is a GoW clone....not that God of War wasn't awesome, but it didn't have stradgey.

And the thing about humans, why a person who escaped Lothering? A human, no less.

I like originallity, like an escaped elven slave also trying to escape the Blight. THAT is a original. Or a casteless dwarf trying to find his way to power and glory and redemption for a past crime. Also original.

The redesigned Darkspawn look too much like a skeleton with skin on it.

And it won't be as awesome if [insert first name here] Hawke meets Sten.

Or Hawke meets Oghren.Or anyone from the first game for that matter

I don't have any worries, myself. However, it seems to me that a lot of people are concerned over the lack of seeing tactical gameplay on the PC. It would probably alleviate some people's fears if they're able to get a look at it (probably with some zooming out of the camera on the PC version so that they can see how that functions as well).
