No s/s romance. :(

THIS.

Having s/s romances added a layer of realism and complexity to the game and was a refreshing change of pace from the standard stuff.

Please, include them in DA2.

That is all, thanks.

My biggest concern is the time spent on the game. Dragon Age Origins is one of the best games I have ever played. Awakening was just a disappointment. There were countless glitches, some that couldn't be patched. There was so little time spent getting to know the new characters, that I couldn't feel emotionally-invested in them. The game was also very short, taking me only eight hours to complete. Origins took about five years to make, so with Dragon Age 2 taking about a year and a half, I'm worried about whether it will have the same problems as Awakening.

The new combat is soo much easier & less inventory :D But I'm worried that everything you did before will not be brought up in this game which is sooo sad :(

Well..
I don't like the way ME went to ME2 for the PC, control wise no double click and no shortcuts for the codex quests Ect.

But my worry is it will also happen for DAO to DA2 (PC version that is)
and yes a small one ... the Toolset !

Also : thanks for asking !:wub:

2 things I'm worried about both dealing with romance...
No s/s romance & lack of a balanced LI .

I hated how everything was opposite spectrum when it came to the romance.

Alistair= Virgin who played with dolls.
Zevran= Masochist.

Leliana= Hopeless Romantic
Morrigan= "Friend" with "Benefits"

As a bisexual woman all I have to say I better not be given an opposite spectrum again and not have that 3rd option to choose from or someone's head will roll.

(and it will not be mine regardless of the Marie Antoinette look alike avi)

The lack of a proper tactical view is my biggest concern.

The paraphrase system. I'd love to know if it will give us a better idea of the resulting actions than the paraphrase system in ME did (which was terrible).

Nice Chris. Very nice.

Graphics is the only concern I have. I don't mean overall art direction (I like that), more just ground textures and textures on large objects (such as pillars, walls etc.), shadows and so on. Any chance of some screenshots at full graphics settings with high AA, AF at 2560x1600? PWWEEEAAAASSSEE?

lack luster love scenes, and grandma boobs on de-clothed females

that always annoyed me during the love seen with Morrigan she went from a petite, perky C-cup to a curvy plus size with saggy double Ds.

also prettier faces...

Oh yes, if it's going to feature a buggy ingame DLC client and a DRM with switched of IFF, what needs to be slapped in the face each time I want to enjoy the game, I just better play offline all the time.

Going through all that torment just to have custom avatars and game progress to show off really isn't worth it.

Well said, I just hope they haven't watered down Isabela, she was clearly bisexual in DA:O so it'd be pretty odd if only males could romance her. Other than that, my only other worry is that there won't be a toolset (hopefully they'll release it after launch or update the old one)...

Hawke, for several reasons. With RPGs, I like creating my own character, and the parameters of the various Origins in the first game were loose enough to allow me to do so. I'm worried that Hawke's origin will be too well defined for me to be able to think of him/her as my character, and instead think of him/her as someone else's character that I'm merely controlling and modifying. Hawke having a voice is another major barrier. This is another thing that I feel will decrease my level of immersion. In DA:O I could imagine my character sounding like, well, anyone I wanted the Warden to sound like. My final problem with Hawke is that he has to be human. I would have liked a race choice option, even if it was only superficial. Something like if Hawke is a dwarf or elf that he was adopted.

To summerize, I feel that Hawke, due to having a defined origin, a voice, and being constricted to being a human exclusively, will severly hamper my level of immersion and thereby decrease my level of enjoyment of the game.

VO'd Hawke is fine, ME-dialogue is also fine, Beth looks fine ...but...

combat has me worried, if it's h&s I'll pass for DIII

needless to mention UI & Camera which I consider pretty much essential for satisfying combat

Player agency. I'm worried that features like the paraphrased dialogue wheel create too much virtual distance between the player and the PC.

What will be done to increase player agency in DA2, to bridge the gap that separates the player from the PC?

the dialoge wheel. i'm afraid its gonna be something like in ME2, where ''sigh'' equals ''i should kill both of you idiots''.

I'm worried that the story will move very fast in between time jumps. Normally a game between Origins and Awakening length wouldn't be a problem--I've invested in plenty of games that short. But I'm worried a game that skips over an entire decade will seem rushed or stilted in an effort to fit everything in.

Having just played Fable III, the beginning of that game was incredibly rushed. There was no time to get your bearings. I was supposed to feel like I was the Princess of the land, and that I hated my brother, but it all happened so fast I wasn't sure what was going on or why I was supposed to care which is positively detrimental to how I, personally, play RPGs. It didn't start arranging right to me until I made my first promise, but then it was too late for me to really care about the world or why I was supposed to be leading a rebellion.

I'm afraid the game will feel too much like "go here, do this" and not slow down, or that the relationships between party members will feel phony because there's only a little bit of time to get to know them over the course of ten years. So while they might be attached to me because we've known each other for a decade, all I can think about is the forced conversations we've been having geared to make me attached to them.

That said, I'm intensely, intensely glad we're going to be warned about the timeskips.

This is my primary concern too. A shorter game than Origins could be something good. I admit that Origins dragged on unnecessarily some times (The Fade, some parts of Orzammar.) But with the time jumps, I worry about the story moving at too fast a pace.

I don't want to be just out of Lothering, seeing the Hawkes mourn the loss of their mom/Carver, and within an hour be an important character in a Qunari invasion. So yeah.. Saibh voiced my concern perfectly.

I echo this concern as well and would add I am also concened about bugs and glitches with the development time frame, based on the broken state Awakening and Witch hunt where both released...

My main worry is that with four months to go, I still don't know what the gameplay is like exactly. I want to see a proper, good length gameplay video, showing the combat, dialogue and the inventory system. An area outside Kirkwall would be nice too.

I'd really like to see complex, party-based combat on PC, with the camera rolled out, the action being paused and someone explaining what's going on.

But I'd be happy with a nice coffee.

Most of the stuff I'm concerned about is too nebulous and complex to state in this form (and will probably be mostly answered by future podcasts/postings anyway).

I think I'm most worried that the plot will be like ME2's plot. I haven't played ME2, but I've been watching a Let's Play series of the game and I've read various discussions on the plot (which is why I didn't buy ME2) because the entire premise where you get roped into working for Cerberus and never get the option to tell them to **** off was just awful.

I guess I'm asking for some info on what the initial plot hook/motivation is going to be. That's what I'd like to know. Not the resolution, not even anything about how it gets set up, just WHAT it is. In Origins we knew about the Blight. We know that the Qunari invasion is INVOLVED, but not whether it's a sideline or the main plot hook or what.

So what's the hook?

Most of the changes I'm either not concerned about that much, or they've already been addressed elsewhere. The only real concern I have left is that each "level" (for want of a better term) after each time-jump will be too linear, with little room for side-missions not connected directly to the main plotline.

Right now my main concern is that characters may loose something when passed from the concept to the ingame model, for example: Aveline's muscles.

Apart from that I never liked the oversized swords and some armors, but I guess you guys know how reallife swords and armor are so there must be something you like about it. Just promise me you will never make a heavy armor with cleavage and I will be fine.

The rest of what I've seen seems great. Thanks for asking.

Edit: Allright, concern about Aveline's muscles laid to rest by this image. I'll have more trust in Bioware from now on.
