I'd say my biggest worry right now, aside from the new art direction and dumbing-down of RPG mechanics, is the city of Kirkwall. Denerim was an absolutely terrible capital city... it was completely sterile and ugly and worthless, and little more than one market district with a few shops. It served its purpose in the ending, but I want a real city. I want to be able to explore around and talk to random people and overhear ambient conversations and see people walk around.

All other RPG developers can do it and it's embarrassing that Bioware still don't want to put the effort into it. Mid and low budget euroRPGs can do it, heck, even Wii JRPGs can do it. Even the Witcher, which used the same old engine, did cities 10x better than was done in DA:O. So, my biggest worry right now is that Kirkwall and the other cities (if there are any), will be sterile and lifeless, and that'll make me sad.

Bioware are well aware (I think) of what mistakes the internet (us) claims they did. Let's hope they provide an awesome game and have learned of those.

I trust them, however, I hope I did not misplace my trust.

Change from first to third person between DA:O and DA2.
I´d like to play my character, not Hawke.
In consequence of this I don´t like the reduced races and  h a t e paraphrasing.
If I don´t know what he/she will say, she is NOT my Avatar.

Plain and simple.... Will it be a classic style RPG in the same league with Bioware previous games like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter and the same Dragon Age Origins or a Mass Effect style action adventure (necause Mass Effect is not worth of be called RPG; nice game, but not RPG)?

If the latter, i think that Bioware has sold his soul to EA and there isn't return...:(

Like others have said, the only thing that worries me is that with all the voice data, other content might get cut, leading to a short/limited game.

If I had to choose one thing it would probably be the framed narrative, although there is so much to gripe about such as how; Hawke now talks and thus no matter how you make him look he will have the same voice, or maybe how the Darkspawn know look Skelator (sorry if I spelled that wrong) from He-Man, or perhaps the way that in the small bit of footage we were shown from PAX Hawke was fighting like Cloud from FF7 with his/her giant sword, not to mention the minuscule amount of ACTUAL gameplay footage that has been released into the community, Or maybe the fact that warriors can know-longer dual-wield, and that Mages can know-longer become Tanks, Oh and lets not forget that know party members have their own base which seems annoying because you know have to travel all the way to their house just to hear them say "Is There Something You Wanted to talk about" only to find out that their conversation tree is out of dialog points... But no the framed Narrative is the biggest problem, since you know the game will be that much shorter. Thank You ^_^
Know heres random faces which have nothing to do with anything:O:alien::(:?<3:D:wizard:B):innocent::pinched:<_<:mellow::police::whistle::blink:;):wub::blush::devil::huh::P:):ph34r:-_-^_^:kissing::crying:=]:bandit::o

THE PC VERSION:

How is it going to actually play to the strengths of the PC as a platform and how, specifically, is the PC version of Dragon Age II going to be a better PC game than Dragon Age: Origins?

Pretty broad, but specific things like having robust hotkeys, being able to scroll through menus and such with the mouse wheel, how the new Tactical camera will work on PC, whether or not the textures on the PC will be gimped by the console memory limitations like ME2 was (having good head textures that turn into a muddy mess below the neck), DRM, possible Direct X 11, all of those sorts of PC-centric questions.

Basically, despite claiming that Dragon Age II is being developed "simultaneously" across all 3 platforms, Origins was built as a PC game first and it felt like it- is Dragon Age II on PC going to feel or look like its been handcuffed by the technical limitations of the consoles?

Pretty much this, especially when relating to the camera mode.  Stripping out of the top down mode is pretty much the first nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned.  I do have a laundry list of other things, but PC game play is at the top.

Thanks for asking, Chris.

Couldn't have phrased it better myself.

im mostly worried about the dialouge wheel like most people.in my opinion it should say exacly what you are going to say no matter how long it is becuse else what Hawke wants to say and what iwant to say might not be the same thing.

p.s:i also hope that they make the mage hats better.they were terrible to be honest

my main concern with the new direction of DA is that Bioware will forget what made DA great in the first place
like with many band that change their music, usually the change results in them losing their style that made the good or what made them who they were
I hope DA is able to keep its good characters, story, and combat that made you pause to think,
I hope Bioware understands what DA is

I'm a little bit worried about companion depth. In Mass Effect 2, there was no point in conversing with you squad unless you were planning on a romance. And even if you had a romance, there was basically only one option to start a romance with them. And after that, there was mostly only one option to keep it going when you talked to them after a mission. I liked how in Dragon age Origins there were always multiple responses that you could select, and they would affect the relationship later on. Choices like those may slow down or speed up the romance, but I prefer it when there is that type of choice when interacting with your party.

I too am concerned about parapharsing in the dialogue wheel. I'm already not thrilled about the voiced PC, but I get why it's being done.

The paraphrasing in ME was TERRIBLE, there were choices that you thought meant one thing, but the outcome was completely different. I felt there was a lot of:
Text: "Tell him no"
Actual Action: *Shepard shoots his head off*
Me: O.o ...

If there is going to be paraphrasing, I want it to be VERY obvious paraphrasing.

And sorry, i know you said keep it to one, but I have two.  Character development and relationship development.  In DA:O, you had to work at building relatinoships.  In ME and ME2, it fell in your lap as long as you kept talking to them.  I want to work for it, and sometimes they'll like me, sometimes they won't.  It's more realistic that way.

I guess I'm most concerned about would be a possible lack of same sex romances.

It was a nice change of pace to be able to see s/s romances in DAO and have the Warden fully interact with the relationships instead of say picking someone up in the Pearl.

It was also nice to see that same sex couples were considered normal and accepted and I would very much like to see this acceptance again in DAII.

My greatest fear is that DA2 will be lean on character interaction given its shorter length and voiced protagonist. The "Mass Effect" games had few unique dialogues which led to much of the cast coming across as underdeveloped. Will party members have as much breadth and depth as in Origins, or is DA2 closer to the "Mass Effect" series or "Awakening"?

I agree with Seagloom. For me, even though Mass Effect was amazing, the only reason I thought Dragon Age was better was because of the depth of the characters, and how unique they all were. For example, the companion quests in Mass Effect don't really have a consequence apart from the fact they don't die. Now, in Dragon Age, it affects how they interact with your PC and the world around them. Also, the Dragon Age characters were funny. Please don't take the humour away! =]

Overhead camera/general combat controls for the PC. DA:O did it all right, so I'm concerned as why changes were made and how thoroughly unclear/blurry these changes have been presented to us.

My top concern is Kirkwall being divided into tiny sections like Denerim.  Beyond that I am very excited and simply don't share many of the concerns people have.

I'm not sure my biggest concerns can be mollified without playing the game first-hand or plot spoilers.

If I had to pick a suitable one, it would perhaps be how companion outfits change over the time span. Do the upgrades we make change the outfit aesthetically? Do we perhaps get more than one outfit choice for each character?

Well, there are a few things that have me concerned, but I'll admit, most of them are window dressing (the companion armor, how returning characters look, etc).

There are really two issues that concern me the most, which I think are gameplay related. The one I'd like to see addressed, I think, is the diologue wheel. I'm very concerned about the paraphrase system (or whatever the official term is) in terms of the paraphrase we see correctly reflecting the actual diologue that choice leads to.

If you can address this issue, I'd appreciate it. This is a big issue to me, a possible "I can't stand this game" issue.

*edit - I'd really like to see some actual game footage to explain this - comments such as "we gave this a lot of thought"  "we spent a lot of time on this" "trust us, we think you'll be satisfied" while nice, won't do much to help alleviate my concerns.
