Bought the game during the week then decided to play during my weekend.
Save game keep corrupting themself. Cant talk to ppl half the time. and the only time i managed to get far and do chapter 1 i cant even meet the npc druid that is stalking me because in what is supposed to be her intro she doesnt even ****ing appear except her ****ing badger pet.
whole weekend trying to get past tutorial/chapter 0 with several character without getting a bug or a save corrupted its getting ****ing annoying.
I dont have any mod and did the updating with the update tool before anybody ask.
is there a fanmade fixpatch or something somewhere like for BG1&2? Because its annoying having to make sure you have 4-5 different save with 10 min apart just to make sure you can keep playing w/o redoing 1+ hour worth of gaming or screwing your whole game up.
is it normal this game is riddled with bugs?

Did you let the game run a bit and THEN try to patch? If memory serves it won't patch until you've run it.
Otherwise...uh, I've run into a couple of bugs but none of the ones you're talking about. You didn't use the DebugMode 1 command for something and forget to turn it off maybe (with DebugMode 0)? I've had a couple of games corrupt because I forgot to turn it back off, it seems.

How about looking very carefully at your game launcher. See that button titled Update? You press that (and you do have to be online) and it automatically connects up and starts finding and downloading, then installing the updates for your game. If you only have NWN2 you are probably at patch level 1.01 or so. IIRC.
If downloading files is an issue, you can try manually downloading the patches (I'll link you the how I used to have to do it story later) and then installing them and updating without being connected.
And as to saving. There's the old gamer's mantra (which still holds true in most RPGs) Save Early, Save Often. Sometimes you never know what's going to jack up your adventure. It could be as simple as telling an NPC to get stuffed and losing the conversation options that lead you to an important quest.
Yes, the vanilla game does have it's share of bugs, so updating is truly the best course of action. Also once updated to 1.23.1765, your experience should be markedly superior to the original.
If I missed anything or you already have the updates, then perhaps instead of asking for updates, you could provide your system specs, OS, RAM, Video, Processor, Game patch level, etc.

Well, he did say he already ran the updater. =/
EDIT: And I can't imagine playing unmodded.
I'd check the essential mods thread sticky in this forum if I were you, once you get your problems sorted out.

Hrm. If you're all patched up and not using the console commands...sounds like you just got really unlucky. (Or lucky....the person following you really annoys me. The badger is probably better company. xD; )
But I'm not really tech savvy. Somebody else might be able to give you a better response. As for saving, I try treating the game like a book...if it feels like a new "chapter" I make a new save. My chapters are pretty short, lol.

There could be some issues with Vista, as NWN2 was designed and developed for Win XP. Do you have Direct X 9.0c installed? You can install it off the primary NWN2 disc. It's in a folder labeled: Prereqs. Vista comes with DX 10 and some of the things needed in NWN2 run better with DX 9. This is not a downgrade. DX9 and DX10 are two separate versions of Direct X and will peacefully co-exist. This has been known to cause game related issues (don't know why, but there it is.)
As far as AI and following and such like that, hard to say. Also, if you updated post playing and saving to a point, those saves might not operate as you'd like due to the patching process changing some of the conversations and quest stats and somewhat jacking some older saves depending on where you are in the story.
There is a recommended Haks and Add Ons thread sticked here and that is also a good place to check for fixing the annoyance factors of things like VFX, getting better and more comprehensive AI, some spell fixes, etc.
Any further issues, by all means please let us know.

oh, and it's become tradition, when installing, to
1. install OC
2. load & play for 5 min.
3. install MotB
4. load & play for 5 min.
5. ...
6. install SoZ
7. load & play for 5 min.
8. UPDATE!
1. install OC
2. load & play for 5 min.
3. install MotB
4. load & play for 5 min.
5. ...
6. install SoZ
7. load & play for 5 min.

Kaedrin's pack has a lot of bug fixes. It also adds lots of new content (classes, feats, etc), but you can use it only for the fixes if you want.
