I heard about the newer Xbox 360's having a less chance of RROD and that they run better. Since when was this implemented by the way? I got my Xbox 360 in January this year so i was just wondering.
Thanks.
Could someone just tell me something?

The XBox's with less RROD chance have the new jasper motherboards in them, they've been around for almost a year now. It uses a different manufacturing process in its graphics chip resulting in less power, and less power = less heat which is the main cause of RROD's.
As far as I know all Arcade 360's are definitely jasper models. If you want to check whether or not a 360 has a jasper motherboard take a look at the back of it where the manufacturing sticker is (where is says MADE IN CHINA). Check how many amps it's rated for. If it says 12.1A then it's a jasper, if it says 14A+ then it's the older falcon model.

Damn... mines an older model. Well, i've heard of people having Xbox 360's since release that haven't RROD so maybe mine won't. I take care of mine a lot really, i don't play for long hours so it doesn't overheat, i don't put anything over it and i install most of the games i get. Hopefully i'l be fine

It can happen. First 360 I got 3 years ago red ringed but the replacment is still going strong, only had to send it in once to get the DVD drive replaced.

Fortunately Microsoft is still honoring their return warrant. Going without your console for 7-10 days kinda blows tho.
Yeah, I bought my jasper the 4th time I got thr RROD. Microsoft gave me a dual charger for my inconvenience. I gave the repaired machine to my son.

Luckily 360's have gotten cheaper... My first was a refurbished one and red ringed in about a year and half.. by that time the Jasper arcades had been released so I just went and bought one.. It cost about the same as the refurbished one I had bought earlier... It's kind of funny that an xbox costs less than a top of the line graphics card for the PC...

As I've been told, the Xbox graphics card is outdated by today's standards, but it's still 1080p and about 100x better than the Wii. And on ported games, the Xbox 360 version always looks better than the PS3 version.
The one thing that the Wii and PS3 have that the 360 lacks is built-in WiFi. And, considering all the money I have put into adapters and routers and wireless bridges the past few years, it would have been cheaper (and a LOT less frustrating) to spend the $100 on the Official Xbox Wireless Adapter....

I'll be on my fourth 360 as soon as I get back a new one from Microsoft as my third has just passed on
... Video game Gods, please guide Microsoft as they embark on the creation of an "Xbox 720". Please see to it that it is not a pile of *violent cough* ... also thanks in advance for next gen gaming
