That was probably the most ambiguous sum up i've seen. What do all those catch phrases mean if there is no context besides the pre-rendered cutscenes?

Watch the video, it's essentially what she says WORD FOR WORD.

Is it odd the way they really don't want to let us know anything about the actual game? Just constant references to "cool stuff" . . . .
The assumption seems to be that any interview/trailer could be someone's first interview/trailer and it's more important to slant everything to someone who's seeing things for the first time as opposed to those of use who sit around eagerly awaiting new scraps of info and devouring them like ravenous wolves.
I'm starting to have that impression.
At some point, they really have to start . . you know, showing us something. Constantly telling us how "cool" or "awesome" it is really stops cutting it quickly.

Was it just me, or was she simply just telling us marketing lines for that full minute and a half? Not that I have anything against the lady...but that just irks me, especially when she said "Think like a General, Fight like a Spartan." I want to see someone who can sit down and talk about their game, not just shoot off marketing lines.
Almost like they're taking marketing lessons from Duke Nukem.

That's exactly what it was - marketing catch-phrases spoken over the Rise to Power Trailer. She said nothing new, actually said nothing at all of substance.

Just the same old nauseatingly rehashed marketing lines, though.

I think we all know that marketing a game to people who aren't already paying close attention is terrible and offensive. What's even worse is that we know the marketing will never change as the release date draws closer. It's catch-phrases and slogans from here on out, as we cleverly hide the truth of our game from those who absolutely need to see more right now.

Just did.
So it's not just us that find these 'previews' less-then-enlightening.

They're fairly indicitive of most comments on any DA2 story you see across the web.
Which is to say, not terribly favorable.

It seems like the marketing catch-phrases were thought by Varric.
That adds a whole new meaning to "pressing a button and something awesome happens".

As art director on the series, Matt Goldman makes regular reference to anew, ‘hotrodded’ art style. “Marketing told me to say that,” he sighs.
At least he realizes how incredibly dumb some of these marketing catchphrases sound.
