I think the reason they haven't shown a game trailer is because the combat and graphics are not up to standard yet so they would like to improve them before showing to us.

I will not say what i thought on the game trailer again as i have already upset many people here.

They´d better hurry then. If we include time for shipping, it´s less than 4 months before the game is ready.
I still don´t get why the hurry for DA2, it hurted the DLC for Origins and it seems will hurt DA2. Hope I´m wrong considering Origins bad patching policy.

In regards to badmouthing, there three sorts of people:

Positive (Product Champions): Satisfied, repeat buyers, engage in positive WoM.
Neutral: Just satisfied, can be swayed into buying something else
Negative: Dissatisfied, good chance will never buy again, strong negative WoM

WoM - Word of mouth

WoM is something taken very seriously in marketing. It's not unusual for consumers/customers to engage in any form of positive or negative word-of-mouth at all. People can be very receptive to it, whether they are close to the individual or not.

Unfortunately, there's quite a bit of badmouthing going on over DA2 in these forums, as well as in many others. I really think there's something wrong with Bioware's Marketing department, assuming they have one. Their online PR isn't really all that great either, especially when we have certain staff members coming in here with their sarcastic remarks and replies to particular negative posts. Sometimes they really appear as if they're sitting on a high horse. Sometimes.

Have we seen any leaked gameplay that wasn't from the 'unreliable' narrative sequence where Hawke has all of his abilities and is able to annhilate derpspawn with one hit?

Yes, though the video was removed. Guy essentially got his party massacred.

Now that sounds promising. I wish I'd seen it.Posted Image

Believe me, you did not want to see the massacre game trailer.

Is there anyway to search for this?

We need to release another video but we have nothing new to say.

What if we just say the exact same thing over again, but this time have an attractive young woman say it?

That will work.

The girl was very attractive but it changed nothing for me.

Attractive women change everything...EVERYTHING.

The thing is, the ME2 launch trailer was a work of art; I don't see how the violence trailer is done by a company promoting the same game. I absolutely avoid all game marketing so not to spoil myself, but that trailer was just so well done (i.e. beautiful music, pacing, etc.) that it basically reduces the Violence trailer to a shoddy FMV.

Are you talking about the Sex and Violence trailer for DA:O?  Sorry, I've just woken up.

Yeah. I just saw it ( I avoid game marketing to avoid spoilers). It starts off okay, and since I never listening to Marylin Manson, I didn't mind the electric guitar at first, but suddenly it just explodes into an orgy of recycled Ostagar scenes and granny panties. It's unbelievable ME2 had such a brilliant trailer by comparison.

True, it's a bit odd.  Then again, I don't mind Marilyn Manson.  I liked it, but it didn't do anything to enhance my buying decision.

she does have pretty eyes tho

There isn't really much to see. The guy was auto-attacking targets from far back with the mage and meantime the other members of the party got killed by the ogre + adds, far ahead and pretty much out of the view. Then it's few minutes of the mage running around and autoattacking the darkspawn chasing her some more.

I really hope either PC run speed had been decreased, or enemy run speed has been increased since that video represented a current build.  Really, really, hope.

I would really bet against that. Kiting has been made much easier for ranged characters in DA2.

Indeed. Combat has gone (and will go) under a lot of tweaks between that demo and the final product. I think when we send out something that we think is "representative" that will be pored over and analyzed by people without the added context of a demo presentation we'd probably like it to be closer to the final thing.

Does that have to be right now? Obviously you guys think so-- we are under no such timetable. Rest assured the time will come when you'll be able to see everything you're curious about. Until then, of course, you're free to angst about it as if the release date were tomorrow. ;)

Well, it sure would be nice to see what the actual final or close to final version of the game looks like before that whole January 11th preorder deadline.

I agree. That would be nice. That's still more than a month away, however.

Considering the timetable we're operating under, one month-- if you're looking at a percentage of the total development time-- is a lot. The game changes on an almost daily basis right now. So looking at other projects that have longer development times and saying "well we knew more X months out with that game" doesn't really compare. We'll put out something more representative when we're confident that's exactly what it'll be.

It's pointless to say "relax", I know. It's probably also pointless to mention that much of the marketing, especially the relatively early marketing, isn't really meant for you guys-- since it's all stuff you've heard a hundred times by now-- but hey, what can you do? I'm not a marketing guy. I just sit smile and nod when they tell me to, when it comes time for marketing stuff.

I only feel angst because I'm running out of new RPGs this year. Already beat New Vegas and plowing through Divinity II: Dragon Knight Saga. *insert nerd face*

Forget January, they must be relatively close to completion now, so it can ship in March.
