I have the latest ATI drivers and my BIOS and vBios have been flashed to the latest versions. Am I the only person encountering this issue? If not, what have others done to correct this?

When you are ready to complete a full report rather than expecting your fellow gamers to do the work looking up your hardware, maybe someone here will have a suggestion (there is a pinned message atop the forum about the subject that you chose to ignore, sorry if your near-sightedness got you that sarcasm).

Including adequate information in a problem report, ME-2:
http://social.biowar...6/index/1537629

When you have done that, then you will have to be patient; it is a holiday weekend, and the game is no longer very new, so th enumber of readers is low for both reasons.  It could be Monday before there are some readers back from visiting family elsewhere.

The 0xC0000005 is an access violation. What this means is that somewhere in the Mass Effect 2 executable AND libraries (DLL files) some thing is trying to access an address outside of the process address space. Unfortunately this does not tell us much. For more information on the 0xC0000005 got to http:/support.microsoft.com

Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION

So now what can you do to fix this. If this is truly a problem in the MassEffect2 executable, you can only update to the latest patch. You cannot fix a Bioware programming error.

There are still other things that can be done.

The problem may be caused by out of date DLL files. The most common are DirectX and the Visual C++ 2005 run-times.

DirectX may be updated by searching http://download.microsoft.com for "dxwebsetup.exe".

The C++ run-time may be found by searching http://download.microsoft.com for KB973544. This is the latest and greatest Visual C++ 2005.

Also getting the latest Windows updates, newest Video and Audio drivers will help also.

If the problem is actually caused by a memory HW problem, then memtest86+ and Prime95 are good programs to test for memory errors.
