I love the length and depth of the game. I haven't really found anything quite like it really. I enjoyed it even more on second playthrough, which took me even longer than the first. Seems like I am positive tortoise compared to others though, with my playthroughs typically at 100 to 120 hours.
Like Hanz mentions above - if compared to a TV series or a series of movies, truly excellent value. Add in being able to mod the game, the different permutations of play rack up pretty fast.
Am sad there is nothing else new quite like it on the horizon - am reserving judgement on DA2

Shorter?? You must be kidding but I don't think you are which is disturbing. Too many games these days are getting shorter and shorter and selling for the same price so it is a great thing to find an amazing and long game. I loved it so much I've done several playthroughs. You did your one little playthrough now be gone.
As for the Deep Roads, that is the highlight of the game for me and I wish it was even LONGER. You have your built up Warden and you're exploring ancient cities while fighting your nemesis the darkspawn? Oh hell yes! I'd love to take my post-Awakening Warden through the Deep Roads clearing out the darkspawn - like clear out all of the darkspawn! That would be really fun for me.
