Destn - the internet is full of kids or adults acting like kids for many different reasons. They can come and flame people like you asking a innocent question because they either got dumped, lost their job, or maybe simply aren't content with their current basement-dwelling life with empty pizza-cartoons around the floor and a dad that pays their internet-bill. Their way of taking out aggressions and frustrations is to make sad attempts at insulting people like you.
I did not really read that much about the game lately, and all I remembered was that it would probably have multiplayer - something stated by the developers back in time. Although I think multiplayer would be awesome in this game - I still really like it as it is now. The story is marvelous! You shouldn't regret buying the game and play it - I'm sure you'll be happy with it anyway.
Thanks Chii, you are good manors and intelligent insight in a single package.
I knew there had to be at least one person of your calibur here.
Thanks for the excellent post.
And so with that I am done with this thread, it has been very amusing.
I have to admit your first question was slightly puzzling to me... BUT online play was not included in the release of the game. Online interaction/advancement/recording in the form of this social group was.
There was something interesting about DA:O though, and that is inside the install files there are a number of different sections/files/folders named, or containing settings named, "Single Player" which heavily hints that the game or engine is capable of Multiplayer features.
Perhaps this will be included in an update, or perhaps a mod can be made for online/multiplayer play...
In any event, I won't try to apologize for the actions/statements/attitudes that you saw here... The internet is the breeding ground to the worst humanity has to offer....and it just keeps getting worse.
However...every once in a while you'll find shiny points of light that make it all better. I'd almost compare it to pandora's box.
Strap on your sword, shield, and be ready for battle if you plan to continue into the this community, gaming, or the internet in general... it's a nasty place.

Oh dear lord, get off your high horse. Most of it here is just some friendly banter, to a pretty silly question.
If you had taken 2 min. on google before you bought it you would have learned it was a SP game.

Is Dragon Age: Origins a multiplayer game? (Back to top)
Dragon
Age: Origins delivers a focused, single-player RPG experience. Since
this is the first game set in the world of Dragon Age, the team wanted
to concentrate on a single player experience that would allow the
players to learn the incredible history, story, and lore in the game.

I should hate to be playing online with any of the people who have so far posted in this thread. Thankfully, I can play the game confident that none of them can possibly interfere.

Oh?
What did I do to you or to the op,I posted here to give him the answer he asked for and provide with official link.

Destn, I'm a 39 year old administrator for a school district - the very definition of lame. Same age as you, approximately. I knew that this was a single-player experience, but then I've been following the developement of the game since it was announced.
Now, if you had picked this game up on a lark, as you browsed through Best Buy or something, I can understand where you might have made a mistake. But you didn't say that. So people are all over you for your obvious Noobness.
I think most of the people here have been pretty gentle with you. You'd get far worse in many other forums. Take the hit, grin, and get off your high horse. We are all just having fun playing DA anyway.
Good luck, and have a great weekend!

I am not a kid, I am 39 and an engineer, I bought the game for my son who is, yes over 18 and incidentally a lot more mature minded than any of you so go ahead and make fun of that too.
Your own lives must be pretty pathetic when all you can do is berate other people in order to feel better about yourselves and impress your peers.
This was my first posting and all I wanted was some questions answered and not to be a part of this community of hooligans.
I am not a "Troll" and yes I know exactly what that means , and I really don't qualify as an idiot either go right ahead and accuse me of whatever you want.
I think you lot have berated me as much as possible now anyway and I can see exactly what kind of mentality I am dealing with here so I understand that I have no place being here in this forum or asking any questions that you people deem foolish.
Have your fun, you have successfully made me unwelcome in this forum so I will just have to find my information someplace else.
For someone who is supposedly 39 years old you are pretty thinned skinned and naive about internet forums. Unfortunately for you you also neglected to do any kind of research about Dragon Age. This games has had a very long development cycle and it has always, always been intended as a single player game.
Since the recent release of the game, this general discussion forum has been putting up with constant troll threads from angry, disappointed and general "hooligan" posters. So, you can understand the low tolerance of the community here for percieved troll threads. Which yours certainly comes across as.
At 41 years old, i am another lame old gamer but i know well enough to do a little research about a game before hand if i want to purchase it. If for some reason i fail to do so i certainly know well enough not to go complain about what i dont like about it on the official forums when the reason for my dissappointment belongs entirely to me.
Welcome to the internet, better grow a few callouses.

Sorry I have to say something, dude you came on here asking a question before researching the game. Anybody who knew anything about the game knew there was no online multiplayer, and there was nothing on the box that said there would be. If you ask a question before taking the time to do some simple research people are going to jump all over you about it.
Its the internet, this will always be the case, and I am sorry I saw your question and I giggled, then I saw that you were serious and I fell on the floor laughing. Then I saw you get butt hurt, and I could not control my hysteria. Seriously your feeding into the the immaturity.

Shouldn't your 18 year old be buying his own games? Hell my 15 year old just bougt his own copy of MW2.
Your 15 yr old just bought a game rated Mature? (17+) That seems slightly off...
He doesn't need to be 17+ to buy the game if I'm there to say it's ok.
