Multiplayer for ME3?

ME3
would be the best if if had multiplayer. I like the idea of co-op. You
can play as either your Shepard ( but he would be a parthner in somebody
else's game, similar to Fable ). You still can make choices but most of
the choices would be with the primary player. 2-3 players should be the
max as that is the most people you can normally have on a mission.
Throw in some made for co-op missions and your golden. Think of it like a
improved Fable henchman system.
Competitive multiplayer would
also be nice if its good. I mean, as long as it doesn't hurt the quality
of single player ( which I don't think it will since bioware has no set
deadline to finish the game ) another game mode never hurt anybody. If
you don't like it, then just don't play it.
So what are you guys ideas? What would you like to see if it did have multiplayer?

As for campaign multi-player, perhaps but only extremely minimal (eg the other player can only be one of your squadmates during battle and that's it).

No, no its not.RandomJPG wrote...
And again, if you don't like it, then don't play co-op. It's that simple.
For multiplayer to exist resources would have to be spent on implementing it.
Resources that could be spent on far more important things like more dialogue for characters/companions.

on another note if they did have multiplayer...
playable as commander shepard?
playable as Tali (or at least being able to be a quarian)
defenitly keep 3rd person style!!
still i would prefer to get the main Trilogy done first then they can focus on the MP versions

EDIT: I love the "If you don't like, don't play it!" line; because since it's there, that means time was spent making it instead of great story or gameplay, et cetera, et cetera.

Ever.
I guess I'm being a little too blunt. Let me elaborate.
...
It's an awful idea. Don't do it. You will kill your game.

I agree. Bioshock 2 and 2K fell for this and look what happened, a half ass multiplayer that's boring and no fun and I don't want that same thing to taint ME3 review scores and it's image of Bioware' quality. I don't get this "EVERY GAME HAS TO HAVE A MULTIPLAYER!" trend. Yeah I'm all for future multiplayer themed Mass Effect games. But for the love of god Bioware please finish this game with a bang and not a 10 year old kid calling you a F***** over the mic.

Thats just my idea. I wouldn't consider that desecrating the Mass Effect universe, or having Bioware completely sell out, since they'd still be giving us a little of what we'd like to see.
But let me make it clear, absolutely no way for ME3. Trying to foce multiplayer to places it shouldn't be has really screwed over some games, like the aforementioned Bioshock 2 (although to be fair, it wasn't a true sequel) and Warcraft. Can't think of any of my own at the moment, but there are plenty of examples out there.

Warcraft 1, 2, 3. Great RTSs, GREAT STORY. Loyal following.
release MMO. What happens?
Story goes to poo poo chute. Appeal to wider demographic by dumbing game down and simplifying story. General population becomes limited to young children who think Chuck Norris jokes are the height of intellectual pursuit.
Long story short: Bioware has a great community, great team, intelligent design. Multiplayer will destroy all of that. End of story.

No and after playing Fable III hell no. I play RPG's at a certain pace (Slow as hell) I watch every cutscene I dont want to tell someone to shut up every 5 minutes, I dont want suggestions about where to go next or what to next, I dont want Idle chatter about dancing with the stars, I want to be able to go back to 4th deck for the third time in a row because I forgot to talk to jack after a mission and not feel guilty about it. ME is about the story of Commander Sheppard not Commander Sheppard and his annoying sidekick who beat the game 3 days ago.
Also this x 5000
What's great about RPG pace is that it's YOUR pace, and that's how you can enjoy the story (which, again, is the games strongest point) to its full potential. You would never be able to do that in multiplayer. It would honestly ruin everything.

And BioWare has a vague deadline, they've said that ME3 will be developed in the same timeframe as ME2 was.
