Hello! I'm going to be starting another replay soon with the human noble origin and I thought it would be cool if my male pc were named after his grandfather. Now, it's mentioned by Albus that the Orlesian occupation was during the Human Noble's grandfather's rein and that the study is full of his books, but I don't recall ever being given a name. I've looked through the wiki and other web sites but the closest male ancestor I can find whose name we are given is Sarim Cousland, but he was the first noble Cousland ever and would be the HN's great great great great, ect grandfather.
Anywho, I was just wondering if the HN's grandfather's name has actually been recorded anywhere? Thanks!

I've never seen the grandfather's name mentioned either.

There is a more recent male Cousland mentioned though - Mather Cousland. He earned the title of Teyrn for the Couslands during the Black Age which is still some 200 years before Maric.

Sarim Cousland was a distant ancestor, but was also the name of Bryce's father. I'll try to find the Gaider quote on it.

Thank you, but don't go through too much trouble. It's not a big deal. I could always name my HN Steve or something.

Why would you do that if you already know the grandfather's name was Sarim but just don't have the proof?

Well, it was in this thread in the old forums and I took notes to that effect, though I'm not seeing the particular quote atm.  Feel free to trawl it, but it's huge.  If you're going to make up a name, just use Sarim.  It was typical for such families to re-use ancestral names.

Never seen a problem with Aedan myself. I used the concept art for inspiration and made him King on my canon with him and Ali not getting along and eventually being exiled. Not my AV by the way

Well, yes if the answer is 'I don't believe you.'

Don't get me wrong, I am grateful Addai67 took the time to answer my query, but I'm really particular about the characters I create. It's weird, but I always have to watch the intro movie, and I can spend an hour on the name alone. If I skip the intro movie or I don't like my character's name or how it looks from a certain camera angle, then I'll wind up starting over. Call me neurotic, but I want solid proof about the name or it will bug me and I'll probably end up deleting the character.

Pushover hath not learned who the loremasters are on this forum yet. Once you spent a few weeks here you'll learn who knows what they are talking about. Until then you'll have to be suspicious and look this stuff up yourself.
