The worst still has to be Jacks' rejection scene though. Maybe i'm biased, being a total Jack fan, but that was absolutely gut wrenching. Garrus's rejection also pretty horrible, but not quite the same level.

The Mako was the best ever! I drove up vertical mountains in it.

I only played the second and fourth one but I was laughin my ass off for most of 4. The writing is so straightforward and obvious, it's pretty pathetic. Hideo Kojima has such a God complex. He really needs to hire some editors.Wolfy2449 wrote...

When Harbinger "Released Control" on the lead Collector. It had a few moments of realizing it was finally free before being incinerated.
It looked more like a scared child, realizing it had just been abandoned to me. Which made it all the sadder for me.

Renegade option on Pragia, though it's probably more depressing than sad. Gettting Jack to kill Aresh and Shepard convincing her that she'll always be nothing more than a killer. One of the only moments where renegade means totally evil.
I just did that because I was a little behind on renegade points and I was like SHEPARD YOU DIRTBAG UGH I SHOULD KICK YOU IN THE BALLS.

Letting Tali cry when she finds her dad without hugging her.
Watching the Salarian die at Nassana's Tower without medigelling him.
Samara walking away after rejecting you.
Legion's "why can't we no longer understand each other?" speech.

This.
And Thane's letter in his dossier (Shadow Broker Base) once the Suicide Mission is over.... I cried.

Kaidan making my Shepard want to kill him. (Well tears of anger and rage and sorrow at the writing fumble counts no?)
Pragia.

That in the second part of the mission getting Thane killed because his shields didn't last.
As for emotional character development I thought Thane reuniting with his son was a pretty sad storyline. Not a lot of room for progress when you have a limited time to live. Tali's inability to touch Sheppard, Miranda first being betrayed by and then watching her friend get killed.
