Saddest ME franchise moment: Talking to and saving Talitha in I Remember Me in ME. It hits me every time.

This.

Every game I've played since discovering that quest has had colonist  as a background specifically for that quest.  IMO if you don't get a lump in your throat doing that quest you have no soul Image IPB

Tali's dead when I did the first time the Suicide Mission and I was enough idiot to put her in command of the second team.

I have to go watch the Jack rejection scene on YT, I heard so much about it. I agree with alot of what people have listed, so not going to repeat, but I think this deserves saying even though its ME1.

Choosing to go after Balak over saving Kate Bowman and the colonists.

Honestly I've only ever lost Jack..and that was because I ran through my first play-through(chose Miranda cause well..come on I was romancin'!), I never liked her, in any capacity. So the deaths =/= Sad.

But, probably the saddest moment is when you talk to Garrus after sparing Sidonis.

Or Thane's backstory.

The Normandy wreckage, though mostly Pressly's log on how he learns to accept aliens..

Tali's father dieing, if you didn't hug her you don't have a heart!

And during the suicide mission I picked Garrus as a team leader, when closing the door he stumbles back and holds his stomach as if he's been shot, at that point I shouted "Noo!" but... false alarm it turns out.

"It hurts when I remember...me." I welled up like a little girl on that one. From ME1.

In ME2, there are quite a few, most of the ones mentioned above hit me hard. But the worst emotional impact was from my first play through.

I had Tali running through the pipeline in the Suicide Mission, the one where you have to keep opening the valves or they get fried.

After all that, we get to the last door, and she can't close it, something's wrong. Just as it's finally closing, Tali takes a bullet through the faceplate. I bellowed.

Seeing my Shep looking at her coffin at the end (she was the only death), I welled up bad.

Garrus' Shadow Broker file. Poor guy can't get any breaks. =/

Agreed, but it's also kind of uplifting to see him secretly help fix the problem. My opinion of him went way up after reading that.

"Why are you alive?! Why aren't you like her?!...broken." Basically all of Talitha's lines are heart wrenching, as are those of th C-Sec Lt. who is a part of the quest.

Let's also remember Corporal Toombs, especially if you're a Sole Survivor.

"You got away with a few scars and a scary reputation. The rest of the unit DIED, and I was tortured for YEARS Shepard. You can't judge me, you don't have the right."

OMG SO MANY
1)Thought I wasnt going to get tali back in my squad, but then I did so it didnt count
2) When Liara blew my invitation to join me off
3) When kaiden was a giant douche
4)When Nef cries about her daughter
5) Jack's many speeches on her loyalty mission
6) Samara's life in general, mostly her morinth business.
7) When at the end I didn't see Tali in my crew roster at the closing scene so I thought she died, but she didnt. So it was okay.

Saddest moment for me had to be the Horizon scene with Ash, followed by the love letter she sends you a little while later. You really felt helpless during that scene, like you really wanted Ash to understand, but she was just to stubborn, infact it even made you want to side with Cerberus almost.. Because they seem like the only ones that care about the dire situation. Thankfuly, the letter reassures the love but you feel like your a million miles away from eachother, and that hardend my Shep.

Another sad moment which I'm surprised no one has mentioned is Anderson's lack of trust in Shep when they meet again. I felt like he gave Shep the cold shoulder, I half expected this from the council, but from a guy who is almost like a father figure/role model who Shep looked up to? Everyone just acts like Sheps some ghost back from the grave gone rougue. You feel like the Alliance has turned its back on you, further pushing you into Cerberus's clutches.

First and foremost: Liara's new attitude (specifically, when she runs after Vasir without so much as a glance to check on Shep... wtf, mate?)

Other than that...

-Samara shutting me down and walking away was... tremendously sucktastic

-Overlord ending

-Kasumi's greybox decision

-Finding Tali's father

-Deciding which javelin missile to abort

-Normandy crash site

-Mordin reminiscing about the genophage

-Most discussions with Samara

-Talking to Dr. Chakwas... pretty much ANY convo with her

When ME2 ended and I found out that it was only a week after it had come out and that ME3 wouldn't be out for another year at least. <:C <--- wonder if anyone's said that yet? Cause that's how I feel. D:

Going to the Normandy crash site and seeing the broken spine of the SR1, She was a fine ship, Graceful and beautiful.

Strangly enough this. For a mission where you just collect dog tags it was very atmospheric and haunting as long as you had played ME1. We were used to the Normandy being full of life and action, a safe haven where we could relax and recuperate. It was our transport that took us across the galaxy and it was our home. To see it wrecked in a lonely abyss devoid of life is heart wrenching. The icy world seals the deal.
