Definitely Overlord ending, and Tali finding her father, of course.

Sorry, nothing beats the moment a romanced Jack dies as the 2nd fireteam leader on the suicide mission.

Thane has a similar line as well:

"I hear it, a sea. You look beautiful, my siha..."

Any character death, but especially if a character dies by being taken by the seeker swarms. Seeing them look so scared, being stung all over and screaming as they're carried away...that's just traumatic.

Overlord's ending is the only that close to me jerking a tear. Tali's father would be a not-so-close second.

Am I the only one who really didn't care about Tali's father dying? Real'Zorah's death, and Tali's reaction to it, just don't have that much of an emotional effect on me. I thought Real'Zorah was a war criminal, and deserved to have his name stricken from fleet records, and held up as a monster for little children. The fleet had laws in place for a reason. What Real'Zorah was doing was unethical and dangerous, and he deserved what he got. Most of my Shepards feel sorry for Tali, but have no pity for her father. They tend to hug Tali and help her mourn. But very little 'sad' feelings going on there.

Sorry, my pro-Geth side came through there. I just had to get that out of my system.

But yeah, Overlord's entire story between Dr. Archer and his brother is very powerful. The moment Archer quotes David's mathmatical ramblings, you realize that he really does care for his brother. Which makes it all the more sad that he's willing to do what he does to David. Only one of my Shepards(I have 20) has ever allowed David to be kept by Archer, and she's the most renegade @#$%! imgainable(but still decided to rewrite the Geth. Fancy that...)

Renegade option on Pragia, though it's probably more depressing than sad. Gettting Jack to kill Aresh and Shepard convincing her that she'll always be nothing more than a killer. One of the only moments where renegade means totally evil.

I saw that in a compilation.

The tone of his voice when he said that...man, that wasn't even renegade that was just wrong.

"You're a killer Jack...it's what you do".

Probably the best delivered line by Meer in the game, I got chills.

The strongest reactions are always in the first play through (at least for me) because I am un-spoiled.

For me there were two horrible moments, both involved Garrus. I didn't know that Garrus was Archangel and at that point in the game I was still pretty pissed off that I was being forced to work with Cerberus. So seeing Garrus elated me to no end....then Tarek nearly killed him with his gunship - I was really worried Garrus was already dead as he lied in the pool of blood.

The second one was when Garrus was taken by the swarm. I wanted Jack to die but it was not meant to be.

Not being able to slap some sense into Kaiden on Horizon made me sad.

This and the end of Kasumi's mission. I wish Kaidan could be reasoned and that Kasumi's mission allowed to save her man. Probably retrieve his location from the graybox and rescue him.

And this isn't really sad but it touched me.

The conversation EDI has with Legion in the dossier really got to me.

'I restrict myself to help them"

Your all right EDI...the Alliance better not trash you in ME3 or there will be hell.

For me the saddest moment in ME2 was right after I started a game when I lost Normandy and my crew from ME1.

Overlord. I took just about everything else in stride, but when I saw that I was like O.O

Also, when my Troll-Shep left Zaeed behind to die in a fire. He helped me with so many missions throughout that career and I repaid him by stabbing him in the back.
