The very first time I had seen a Thresher Maw was a huge "oh shi-" moment of my ME1 experience. I drove around the field like mad trying to avoid its spit and died fairly quickly. Throughout the first game, my tactic was the driving like mad and shooting method. Only later, after reading the old forums, did I realize I could stay perfectly still and simply jump whenever it spit at me. And even later, I realized it was supposedly much easier to kill if I simply got out of the Mako and attacked it like any other boss monster.

This^ and if you were a Bastion with leveled up Stasis they became easier and quicker to deal with. Ahhh...the good ol' days.

Praetorians are annoying. They pose no threat, but can take quite a lot of damage which leads to a boring fight.

Ditto.

Harbinger- the first few times he talks, it's pretty cool, after that, it's annoying. God I would PAY for an option to mute him whenever i wanted.

Scion- Horizon. Two of them. Insanity. First time. I wanted to cry by the end of it.

It depends on the difficulty. If we are talking insanity, Scions for sure. Sure the praetorian is tough, but circle around a set of boxes or a pillar and it just becomes a long but easy fight.

Scions. Amagawd, two of them at once on higher difficulties are destined to bring broken keyboards (and controllers).

Both I guess. Anyways I should stop spamming the thread.

To stay on topic I'm going to throw in my hate for Harbinger, they should have made something that would let you mute him after the first play through. Its torture after the first 30 minutes, but having to listen to him across multiple files is down right evil.

During the Morden recruitment mission, there is a segment where you can climb up a stairwell and snipe out the Blood Pack in relative safety. Except a damn varren always manages to find himself up the stairs and blows me out of cover.

WTF is a varren doing with armor anyway?

ME2: Praetorians. "GHWURRR I rechaerg shields HYUCK HYUCK."

In ME1... all annoying enemies could be made powerless with biotics. Lift ruined the day for most chargers. Perhaps the f****ng swarm of 'single hit and you die' rocket firing drones in a certain mission.

In ME2... Depends on difficulty... On veteran or below i would have to say Scions. On harder it would be husks as the shockwave/concussive blast/throw field/incineration blast no longer instakill them. Or Pretorians though i usually saved 1 Cain shot for those which either killed them outright or made them a lot easier to take down.

there is the same fact between varren and cybog dog(?). they quickly (easily) sniff where enemies (shepard, squad) are coming. they have incredible sniff sensor. especially, when you play insanity difficulty, they are really crazy to rush for you.

Scions.

Holy ****, the trap platform on the derelict reaper on insanity, I wanted to jump out of a ****ing window. The scions make that section so freakin' difficult

This, I dont mind the game to be difficult, but the difficulty should be consistent - this one seems more like balancing issues.

I dont know about most annoying but the most hardest fight (bar none) in the entire game is when you reroll as a level 30, on insanity, and hit the collector ship (the ship not the base) with only half your weapons upgraded. On the platforms you're dealing with multiple harbingers, collector assassins, and scions simultaneously... add doing it with a VG (the glass canon) and you have a match made in hell.

Toughest fight by far.
