If you give it boobies no one will even notice it's recycled.

I currently am using the herald model and was hoping someone would volunteer to create a modified version, but no takers yet. So for now I am just using the herald model.

You know, not sure if they'd do it, but you could go over to Bouncy Rock and ask theme to do it, or atleast a two armed marilth....

I just handed slowdive my Severed Hand blueprints and unfinished areas. Got all the critters from AR5101 to AR5502 done, but didn't have time to do AR5001-AR5004. Did make all the treasure though. Hope nothing crashes. I'll be doing Lower Dorn, HOW and TOTL next.

Slowdive could use scripters and prefabers as well as modelers. Lots of furniture to place and area sculpting.

sadly Steelfire, Bouncy Rock is pretty much officially no more at this point in time as regards, Johnny Ree. There might still be some other folks there that can help out, but it's doubtful. Couldn't hurt to ask, though.

Why's that?  I know he's been working on some iphone apps, but that's been complete for months.  Other than his regular day time job, JRs bouncy rock has been pretty quiet project wise.  Did you get inside info that Johnny moved on to other games/endevours.  Shame if he didn't still have some interest in NWN2.  How about RWS crew.  They're pretty handy at modifying existing critters.

Bouncy Rock has been defunct for quite some time. They haven't released anything for NWN2 since "Misery Stone" and, for the most part, that wasn't from JR. He did the custom content, but none of the actual design. I can say, from a somewhat privelaged standpoint, that it would be shocking to see anything NWN2 come from them at this point.

To the subject of the model, the best you can do is ask Hellfire and see if he bites. I think you'd be fine just using the Herald with a slight reskin, to be honest. You've got the feel down pretty solid for this project, and I don't think people are going to be missing snake boobs. *For the record, never pick up a python and check for snake boobs.*

Quick answer is: Johnny Ree, Liso and QK have set up shop in Nicaragua I think it was. I do know that they teamed up to create a small software app company there and are living very South of the Border as it were. There had been no real activity on Bouncy Rock since Misery Stone and as Chaos rightly points out, that was mostly not JR. Since then, BR has mostly gone dark and silent.

All indicators are that the site is basically abandoned by the owners.

Life continues.

They will be missed but I wish them nothing but success in their endeavor in Nicaragua.

All of that said, BR was working on another project(somewhat in secret, somewhat not). There was quite a bit done for it, and I'll see if I can't contact some folks and try and get what they had done released(custom content, music, areas, etc). I was involved at one point, so perhaps I hold some sway(however much I doubt it).

This was quite a digression, and I apologize for going on it. I am looking forward to this project though. I love old-school games, and IWD2 is just right up that alley. :wizard:

The sign up sheet has been updated to now include Chapter 3. See The Vault page for the sign up sheet PDF. We mostly need custom placeables and metatiles. A Yxunomei model would still be nice to have for Chapter 2 (retexture and some vertice modifications of the Herald model maybe).

I played your IWD mod for couple of hours and seriously, I'm now gonna learn how to use the toolset. Hopefully I'll be able to do some interiors/exteriors soon. As for now I don't apply because still my skills in modding are close to 0.

Hitmanen,

If you are not comfortable yet with the toolset, we can use help in the Beta testing arena. Any bugs or suggestions submitted are very helpful because it frees me up to keep building instead of testing. Bugs are important, but I am also looking for comments on the combat balance, XP balance, and gold balance to make sure they stay close to the original game. Please post any bugs, etc. to the other "Beta Testing" thread on these forums.

Thanks again for playing and commenting. When you are ready to take on the toolset, send me an e-mail and we'll see what is available to work on (from the sign-up sheet...see The Vault page).

Hi Alupinu. Sadly, the Tavern of Hidden Tales is no longer around. I'm still working on IWD and it looks like you are pretty busy in the toolset yourself. Hopefully someday we can get another ToHT type site going again. I guess there is neverwinter connections, but I have never used it.

You'd be welcome to a "corner office" over at the Citadel if you wished it.

A well-done marilith would be pretty damn awesome. Animating six arms looks like no mean feat, though.

yes it would.

but mind you, 4 arms would all be missed attacks and only the first pair would be combatters

Yeah, that's something I was reflecting on in NWN1. Really the game engine would need to be able to handle multiple attacks. However, you could simulate them, I suppose, and just calculate the attack rolls and damage by hand. Could be quite hard to take everything into account, though, and you probably wouldn't be able to trigger OnHit events and the like. Maybe, instead, you could just apply an extra attacks effect (possibly even changing each weapon's item properties on hit, so that it's like being hit with two different weapons). Of course, all this still needs a model... another thing is that the marilith would still only have two weapon slots, so you'd have difficulty making the 3rd-6th weapons show up dynamically.

You could split the Marilith's attacks by granting it something like Flurry of Blows every round or set it's number of attacks to 4/4 and haste it. Other things come to mind, though I have no idea if they'll work and they're all kludges. Mostly just a suggestion for increasing the number of attacks a Marilith would normally have (due to engine limits and animations) that they don't get in-game as a single model character.

For the person that want to help, but is a faid of the toolset :

Nevers be afraid by the toolset, just use it, you'll learn to work with it that way. Start with easy area to make, making a tile area for exemple require a lot of dedication but isn't really difficult.

Actually I am making AR6000 for IWD right now but noone knows it until I finish it :D

Shhh :D

And I agree, in editors like the toolset you learn most when you're trying to convert what you've got in your head to the game.
