Of course this is just my opinion and if someone really wanted to convert IWD2, I would definitely play it and maybe help out a bit if they wanted.

They have something that looks kind of like Waukeen's Promenade now. They did manage to get interviewed all over the place for Irenicus dungeon. But no game sites seem to be showing any attention for the IWD/BG projects, despite them being near complete.steelfire_dragon wrote...
yeah but has that group made any progress on that project?
last I check it was still irenicus's dungeon

The Summer of 2000 marked the release of Icewind Dale. Can you believe it's been eleven years already? There was no better way to escape the heat, than the cool refreshing breath of a white dragon.

DAO remakes of BG2 and IWD have two HUGE flaws: You can only have 4 PCs maximum because the limit is hardcoded.
And I'm not sure about this one, correct me if I'm wrong, but you can only create one PC and have to recruit the others. Icewind Dale is all about creating 6 PCs from scratch.
Great graphics, animations and stuff are all great but NwN2 is MANY times more flexible.

I wonder if you could possibly do something by making 2 of the characters be henchmen? If you had a way to quickly switch a character between being a PC and a henchman, you could get around the limitation -- albeit awkwardly.
Of the two games, I preferred BG2 because of the character development and the richer storyline.
