 Hi,

I'm wondering if it's possible to save both? My first run through of awakenings was a bit rushed, didn't really know what I was doing so I missed a lot of things, I'm wondering if it's possible to save both?

I tried the city first, but lost the keep, and then I tried the keep and lost the city, I chose the latter in the end, but I'd rather both.

Any idea's?

Yes, you can do that. You need to fully upgrade the Keep and go for Amaranthine.

All right, thanks.

I was sure I did that though, I invested the 80 sovereign with the dwarf builder, what else is there to do?

You need to upgrade the walls, close the basement, give Wade metals for the upgraded armor and give Dworkin lyrium sand.

You need to find some stone in the Wending Woods for him(if you talk to him after giving the gold he'll tell you that he needs stone), and ore to upgrade the Vigil's soldiers. At least that's what I did and I saved both.

Edit: got beaten :P

Thanks guys, I remember upgrading some of the Vigil's soldiers but I can't remember if I did all the upgrades on them; I did the walls, found the stone in the Wending Woods, and gave Dworkin the lyrium sand.

I didn't know I could close the basement so I'll have to look into that... my ending was rather unappealing, lol.

Thanks again!

There is a hole into the Deep Roads beneath the Keep (through which the darkspawn attacked in the beginning of the game) that has to be sealed.

Oh yeah, I remember that -- I did that too.

EDIT: Does it matter where I send my troops? I remember something about being short on troops but people wanting me to send them around to farms or the city or something.

No, that's its own little dilemna. You can send troops to defend the farms, the trading routes, the city, or attempt to defend them all. Defending the trading routes will get the traders in the Vigil more gear, defending the farms will keep the farmers happy, etc, but this choice doesn't affect your ability to save the Keep and Amaranthine.

Also note that after the battle in Amaranthine, the Keep will still show up blanked out on the map and be inaccessable. It's only when you get to the epilogue slides that you learn it did indeed survive the attack.

You can pick the option to have your soldiers do their best to protect everyone (trade, farms, Amaranthine and etc.). That way you can still get all of the merchant upgrades without having to leave the farmers to die. Too bad your warden can't actually save both Amaranthine and Vigil's Keep personally. Towards the end of Awakening, my wardens are more than strong enough to do both by themself if they wished. Awakening certainly gives you the tools to do so, as well as lack of enemy difficulty.

@Ferretinabun, thanks, I see. Good to know about the battle, I was sure I saw a "cross" over Vigil's Keep with "destroyed by dark spawn" written there or something.

@Arthur, I see, thanks. I've had a look at that site a few times its great.
