Well considering how the Tevinter can turn someone into stone I could see them experimenting with trying to create golems.TheHawkeWhoFlies wrote...
maybe it's a qunari creation? or maybe the tevinters experimented a lot on the golems they bought from the dwarves (or tried to create golems themselves)?
Brrrr, I just got a creepy thought. What if those statues we see at The Gallows are same sort of deal. Imagine passing by the statues of slaves and hearing the slaves calling out.

And then on your way out, they come to life and attack.

I suspect that would involve Isabela.

That might be a far off shot however.
It could also be some kind of Qunari battle armor.

The Fex :-|
I was going to suggest the same ! If I'm not wrong, the Fex are from Par Vollen like the Qunari, and some people in this thread pointed the Qunari look. I found the name Fex a bit odd too, sort of StarWarzish ; I couldn't think of anything that would match that name in Dragon Age's universe ; that kind of creature however certainly does.
I think DG hinted that you don't necessarily see the Fex though. My guess is that this is just some sort of ancient evil-possessed-sentinel-boss-thing, which after all makes sense when you see all the creepy golden statues and architectural style in Kirkwall.

Gaxkang the Revived?!
Considering they put an exclusive, non in-game item in the trailer, sure. Why not an easter egg?

For some reason, Gaxkang was a cool opponent in Origins. If Flemeth is coming back, I'd also like to see Gaxkang return as well.

Well, for one, Flemeth is not an easter egg, and it makes sense in the story for her to be there.
Not saying have both or none, just stating an opinion. One that most likely will not be heard. Not like I care though. It doesn't effect the overall product.
