Yes defintely that. That was a very Lovecraftian moment, I think I lost 5 Sanity points at that sight.

- The reaction the elven woman has in Lothering when you tell her, her husband and their child that you killed the bandits. "I killed them." "That's wonderful news! Perhaps our belongings are still there."
Er.....what? She must've been really mad at them.lol
Really? Why wouldn't she consider that wonderful news? Those bandits really had it coming.
She and her husband have opposite reactions. He comes out with this slightly horrified: "You... killed them?" then his wife replies with a cheerful: "That's wonderful news! Perhaps our belongings are still there."
That's what I mean. Her reaction is so cheerful it doesn't fit with her husband's reaction. And it seems a bit out of place IMO because all the bandits did was steal their stuff. It's not like they tortured, maimed, raped or murdered them. It's slightly creepy and brings on the lulz at the same time.

Me too. The first time I heard this, I had Wynne in my party. I thought she was trying to freak me out. I started shouting at her (yes, I yelled at her through my TV). <_<
oh my gosh that is my story as well I thought it was Wynne and I was "Okay I am now scared." It didn't help it was around 12:00 at night and dark at my home either. I have to say no matter what that was one of the best creepiest moments in a non-horror game I have seen. I mean you are sorta expecting it but it cataches you off guard still.
I personally get creeped out when I see the cult village. I am thinking "This is just creepy and creepy...and the kid has a bone...." also the ghost child's poem in the Orphanage and when you hear all the screams as well as walking into the apartment where everyone vanished to be sold off.

Hespith's poem was more bizarre than anything else, i didn't have any context to place it in.
Coming around the corner aand seeing the broodmother though.... That was just something else. I'm pretty sure i lost three shades of color without being scared spitless, and that's something other than creepy. now that i've got a context for the poem, yeah definitely creepy poem.

Either way Morrigan's comment about how a reluctant Alistair would enjoy it more than he thinks struck me as something a molester would say. (and once that knee jerk reaction was over, I also found it B***y, hello Morrigan, Warden madly in love with him standing right there, you know it because you used it as emotional blackmail to get her to agree to your ritual, so be a good 'sister' for once, let Alistair complain and don't rub it in.)
Also, Zevran, love him to death, but his sex and violence stories. Creepy.
But classic horror hauntings, possessions, singsong poems, and eldritch abominations just make me giggle.

Wynne started talking through Shale, and Sten through Leliana.

Other stuff? Well honestly this game is to Arcade/Action heavy to really draw me in enough to creep me out in a way Dead Space or similar games did.
Dead Space creeps me out big time. The music and being all alone on that ship is dang freaky. In DAO nothing really freaks me out. I'd have to say the brood mother is something as is the haunted orphanage but once you play the game several times, you get used it it. Anyone who hasn't tried Dead Space really should. Wow, just wow.

Maybe it's just me, but the husband's reaction didn't strike me as horrified, more like surprised. Considering how he thanks you for it, I really don't think he was bothered by your actions.
And even if the bandits didn't torture anyone, they did attempt to kill anyone who refused to be robbed. That warrants a death sentence from me.

And he is especially creepy at a female Warden. Dear sweet watergod. "The pretty lady is so nice to Ruck. I will stay here and imagine I smell your hair. Such a nice memory..." or, even worse, "The pretty lady returns? I am so pleased. Ruck's been thinking about you..."
Brrrrrrrrrrrrr. I'll just... sit in that corner over there and shake convulsively, 'kay thanks.
The kids (Haven Child, Alienage Orphan Child) would have been creepier if they'd put a bit more effort into the sing-song. They sound really lifeless to me, so I'm not really that affected by their chants.

I agree. They were robbing refugees of their scant few possessions and killing whoever resisted. I can't imagine any of their victims regretting the well-deserved death of the lot of them.Zjarcal wrote...
