Hey. I said I liked bloodthirsty people.

Peace is boring to me. It's nice to live in but absolutely a snoozefest to read about. War, stragety, torture, intrigue interest me far more.

What is this tree they fought over?

Why are we talking about Anora? We have already established that Ryzaki hates her and finds her incompetent, because she isn't rutheless enough (because you know, the other alternative is much more ruthless...yea). It's getting redundant. Is Anora is the new Loghain now?

...Did you really just go there KoP?

Like honestly?

Beause everyone knows if you think X isn't good enough that automatically means you think Y is the best option eva!

Me thinking Anora isn't ruthless enough has nothing to do with anyone else. Not Alistair, not Eamon, not random Cousland Sue here. I just don't think she's ruthless enough. The world isn't going to end becaus I think this.

Also: If it's redundant you could just...ignore it? Not difficult to do.

Except you argued that Alistair was a better ruler before.

If you didn't here, then I apologize.

Well, she is her father's daughter. So she must be either evil incarnate or a double crossing biatch because, you know, she won't let the Warden boss her around and walk all over her because he/she is the awesome Grey Warden. I can just imagine Anora saying: "Oh? You want to support a clueless, untrained manchild AND kill my father? Sure, I'll help ya!" :innocent::D:P

Accepted.

And if I failed to mention then I'll do so know: I don't find Alistair to be a better ruler or even a good one. I just don't find Anora to be an overly good one either.

Well apparently she isn't double crossing enough, she needs to do it much much more and be something like Howe to be considered competent.

Except she still backstabs you before she even knows any of that .:innocent: [How else would Ser Cautherine magically show up?] And if you agree to support her but kill her father despite her whole "the country comes first" spiel.

Not to mention she fails spectaculary at it. I think I'd like her more if her schemes actually worked.

And I love how people assume when I don't like someone it's because they don't stroke my ego.

She did fine before and her epilogue slides are fine too. (Hardened Alistair does ok, but he fares better if married to Anora). Alistair, Eamon and the political mastermind of Thedas, Empress Celene, are impressed by Queen Anora. Good enough recs for me.

She isn't perfect, far from it. And she does need a firmer control over the military, which is something she lacks (albeit in the presence of her father who is going to trump her there).
But in terms of popularity, administration, economics and reforms, she is very good and she can be complemented by a Cousland Consort who will help her with military matters.

In that situation, her weaknesses are balanced and I do believe that Anora would learn from her mistake (as Loghain said she would). Her being present in the Battle of Denerim and displaying herself as a military leader (albeit not that well granted) shows, imo, a desire on her part to prove herself adept at both war and peace.

No. She only does that if you rat out her ID by betraying her first. Would you support anyone who tells you they plan to murder the only family member you have left? Really?

For you. I just don't see it matching up to what I see in game. That said we have different views on an impressive leader.

Also for Ser Cautherine to know you killed Howe. Before his own men even know can only be explained by Anora's chronic backstabbing disorder. No other means makes sense.

That said Anora is trying to learn so I'll give her credit for that but on that sense so is Alistair so that ends up evening it out.

For me, the greatest leader in DA:O is Bhelen. If we can agree on that, we have a similar premise. :D

I liked Anora's slide more than Alistair's to be honest.
Modernizing Fereldan and trying to advance it was a very good thing.
Especially where she was pulling the Freeholders out from under the Banns.

Although her NOT remarrying could bring up issues if she does not have an heir.

Plot hole. Game mechanics. As there is no proof and as there are more glaring plot & timeline holes, I won't blame that on Anora.

LOL.  Much as I dislike him personally, he sure knows how to play political chess. A mastermind.

Why would I claim it to be a plot hole to cover a character's flaw when there's already something that makes perfect sense in game? Hell you can even suggest it was a trap in the first place! That's just making plot holes for the sake of making them.

Bhelen's a great leader yes. I just hate his damn second.Gah. ...How many times his second has stopped me from supporting Bhelen. <_<

She can appoint one, it's not a problem in Ferelden (the Couslands are canditates, let's hope Fergus can rfaise his kids well. I have my doubts).
But it seems like Bioware wants to end the Therein and Mac Tirian lines and maybe bring Ferelden down, which would be annoying.

Yep that would be.
Going to all that work just to see Fereldan fall apart again. :pinched:

Edit: Yes it is. The Civil War only happened because the bannorn idn't buy Loghain's BS. She should've been the one to convince them. Instead she hangwrings and looks like a kicked puppy at the landsmeet. Great leadership there.

Yes it would have. The bannorn was just itching for a fight, all sorts of old grudges were flaring up, these people have fought over a tree before, no one thought it was a Blight so that wouldn't stop them, and there was no heir.

That's nonsense. Just because they love to fight each other doesn't mean you can't unite them against a bigger threat. Cut them some slack please.

They perceived the Darkspawn as the bigger threat and refused to follow Loghain against Orlais. That's the point of the civil war.

That's exactly what Anora was thinking. Orlais doesn't matter now, but instead of stepping up to the plate and standing with Teagan, she wrung her hands and let it happen!

I find it hard to cut them ANY slack after reading how they fought over a bloody TREE.
