He comes along regardless of which army you call, just like Irving or Gregoir (depending on who you sided with), Kardol (if you recruited the Legion), and Zathrian or Swiftrunner (again, depending on who you sided with).

Oh, and I should add my support to the Eamon hate campaign. His obsession with the Theirin bloodline is ridiculous. He really does intend to use Alistair as a puppet (I'm sure KoP approves).

He also has the most depressingly bland beard imaginable. He'd be a laughing stock in the Orzammar diamond quarter, I tell you.

So have I just been paying no attention to the final battle allies or is that a PC-only thing?

I don't think it's a PC only thing. But they are easy to miss.

I agree with Zjarcal, Sarah. I rarely see them running around (in fact this last playthrough was the first time I've actually spotted Eamon, I think).

I always see Eamon and Irving (I've never not saved the circle though I accidentally on my first run through that I never finished annuled the circle) so I imagine Gregoir turns up with the same frequency as the First Enchanter does. I always recruit Kardol and use the dwarves for the final battle so I see him running around. Zathrian always dies to end the curse so I never see him or Swiftrunner. Do you see in their stead Lanaya? LOL Or maybe we can make Cammen Archi food? Please tell me this is possible? I'd love to see that.

Whats OK for you and Anora must be at least permissible for Eamon right?

Heh, yeah it's rather ironic that the OP hates Eamon for political machinations and ingratitude, but married Anora.  Dude...

Approve of what?

I personally respect Eamon, but disagree with him, mainly on the issue of Ferelden's future.
I don't particularily like his treatment of Alistair either, though I wouldn't go as far as to say that Eamon doesn't give a damn about him. He does, but not that much, at least that's how I saw it.

While he certainly wouldn't phrase it like that, I am pretty sure he has the interests of his family in mind when he wants to put Alistair on the throne. And yes, he wants to be chancellor and evidently, he does not bother training Alistair to be king when he is unhardened, and when he is hardened, I understood Alistair's growing interest in governance to be his own proper initiative, not Eamon's guidance, which is indicative.

I understand his ambitions, and respect him for them. But, I do not think that kind of future is healthy for Ferelden.
Add the developments of the Bannorn in Witch Hunt, and he is a potential enemy. But I'd hate to kill him, or do worse things to him (as to avoid making a martyr out of him), so I hope it doesn't come to that.

The main thing that made me like Eamon is his objectivity towards Loghain in certain comments. He praised him quite a few times, more so than hating on him which he does once or twice.  I count Eamon's comments about Loghain as one of the way my character can have an insight on the character and give him the benefit of the doubt.

Political machinations......? Really? My only Grey Warden ally and heir to the throne whines half of the game about not wanting to be king. What's the next best thing... widow of the last king and son of the second most powerful man in Fereldan? Hardly call that a machination. More like manifest destiny than anything....

Why would I approve of someone using Alistair as a puppet other than my Dain?
Alistair is Dain's! :o

A destiny for which she throws her own father under the bus in the Landsmeet.  Only if it means she'll get her throne, of course, otherwise he's a great guy, hero of the people etc. and the Warden is the enemy.  Eamon's got nothing on Anora.

If someone didn't know the backstory (and you didn't link the pic), they'd think that Dain is jealous.

indeed, I like Mika Simmons voice, I just mute during the wretched harpy screeching that is Anora's address at the gates of Denerim.

Hah. I got the best good bad bug ever. Alistair thought he was going to be king and not king at the same time. Anora speaks but is invisible and Alistair gives the charge speech.

I <3 at not having to hear Anora's speech.

Though when I did the US I had to hear her hero speech. >_>

Needless to say I promptly reloaded.

Her hero speech really isn't that bad. It's almost the same as Alistair's and her voice is not annoying in that one.

They really ought to have had Loghain do it. Awkward retcon speeches be damned, his booming voice would be far more inspiring.

Um . . .  I have to say that Loghain threw himself under the bus.  The chain of events starting at Ostagar became more and more distasteful and tyranical.  Follow Anora during the cutscenes.  At the first Landsmeet after Ostagar she has full faith in her father.  But by the time Arl Howe is telling Loghain the Bannorn wants him to step down Anora tells Daddy (summary), "Enough is enough.  Cailan was going to ask Orlais for help and it was a good plan."  Of course Loghain goes banjo-kazooey at which point she asks him if he killed Cailan.  When Loghain gives her his evasive (honest but evasive) "Cailan's death was his own doing" that is the final straw.

She prefers you not execute her father - that is very clear.

In Summary - Anora did not throw her dad under the bus IMO.  She eventually saw that he had lost his grip on the situation and knew she had to step in to save the country.

Of course as I'm typing this it occurs to me that if you tell Anora that you plan to put Alistair on the throne then she throws the Warden under the bus.  So . . . eh . . . maybe I'm FoS.

oh gawd no, I hate his voice.  I would stab my ears with ice picks before I had to listen to that.  And since he dies in my games, it would be really creepy having zombie-Loghain deliver the speech. Posted Image

Ah true it could be worse

She could sound like Farleen from Star Ocean 3.

Anyone who has ever played knows exactly what I'm talking about. Everytime she spoke I wanted to mute the game.

Sure would. His VO is one of the greatest ever. I mean, Simon T. already made VO history as Cain. But that voice could be reading the phonebook and I'd be all :wub::wub: Perfect baritonal timbre, brilliant shading, exquisite acting. He can go from a booming forte to a tender piano in a split second... IMO tis not only the sexiest DAO voice (I am all into baritonal voices) but also the most thought provoking one. He speaks like a Shakespeare actor, yet without pretense. Exquisite, really. Alistair's Gate Speech is nice & all, but hardly inspiring. Anora...nice too. But neither of them have Loghain's authority, charisma or downright brilliant VO acting.

Sure.  And if all that is true, she should support the Warden unconditionally, as she also promises to do if you question her request to rescue her out of Howe's estate.  But she doesn't do so if her own political ambitions are at stake.  Hence, she is just as big a political animal as Eamon.  I would say moreso.

Ninja'ed by you, I see.  :)
