Okay, I know that Aveline is married to this Templar named Wesley, but is it possible for Wesley to die or disappear, widowing Aveline, and hence, make her available, so to speak?

Furthermore, could it be possible that while Wesley lives, that Hawke might be able to convince Aveline to ditch him and pursue a romance with Hawke instead? I am particularly interested in something like this - the player character having an affair with the wife of a probable companion! (I am unsure if Wesley will be an actual companion character, however.)

I haven't been really catching up with the game's details at all, and I have been relying the Dragon Age wiki on Wikia for information. Hopefully, some of you will be able to clarify some of my points with your superior knowledge.

Come on, say 'Yes,' BioWare.

We haven't announced any romances yet, and we're not about to start just because there's a new character to ask the question about.

There's a dead something in their past and that sends up huge red flags for me. I'm am so utterly sick of dead-somethings. No. Sorry, Aveline--in another life.

Pumpkin, that "dead something" is in the present. Not the past.

How do you know my name? Are you reading into my files? What else do you know about me?

:o Not...that?

Anyhow, he dies, like, five minutes in. So did Aribeth's fiance. At the end of the first act, right? Still counts.

Hawke: Hurry it up, Aveline. We don't have time for your angst. Grief is so cliche.

Aveline: ...Do you mind keeping your cynicism for after I've finished mercy-killing my husband?

Hawke: Yawn. So overdone.

Wait - Hawke kissing Isabela isn't a confirmation?

You mean the kiss in a CGI trailer which so accurately and clearly conveys the nuances of a game's plot, as opposed to simply the broadest strokes of it? ;)

Be a real shame if BioWare confirmed any romances before release. Spoilers are bad. Keeping us in the dark is good.

Sorry, not going to happen. By the time the game comes out, you'll be fully aware of who the potential party members and romances are in the game-- if you pay attention to all the marketing that goes out. Caveat emptor. We're not going to hold your hand for you on that count.

So the leading lady is a wh*re, and a pretty ugly one at that? Meh.

"Leading lady"? It's a companion, with an optional romance, and one you don't even have to recruit. If you really don't like her, then give her a pass. Seriously, the day we make a romanceable character that appeals to absolutely everyone (and, if female, isn't picked apart by forumites based on her facial features)... well, there's no need to speculate because that will never happen.

Just because it's the first companion we've publicly spotlighted doesn't mean there isn't anyone else.

Fine, FINE. Use my own words against me. Image IPB

Of course, this assumes that there haven't been any cuts or changes since I said that. Which we all know never happens.

Maria, Darth Gaider, I lost you.

You were referring to Isabela in that post, weren't you Dave? Aren't we discussing supposed to discuss Aveline here?

That came up in reference to my saying we haven't announced any romances-- when I guess at least one has been mentioned (if not officially announced). Assuming it still exists, of course.

But by all means, let the Aveline speculation continue.
