Just had a thought (inspired by Jon Jern's thread) - I've never actually gotten companions to dislike my wardens. I either kill off companions I don't like, get their approval high or ignore them completely.
Are there important dialogue changes if your companions actively dislike you? I'm thinking the epilogue, the Denerim goodbyes and the chat with Alistair/Loghain before someone offs archie, primarily, but perhaps there are others too/instead. Or are they always the same - sweet and sentimental, even if your companions think less of you than of something that's just dropped out of their nose?

Well, for one there are the hate speeches once you reach -100 approval. At this point, the companions will try to leave and you have the chance to convince them to stay. If you do, the next time you reach -100 they will leave for good.
Also, the speeches at the Denerim gates change based on approval. Well, some of them do. If your approval is at "hostile" they won't be sad to say goodbye, more like relieved.
I forgot, if you're in a romance with a companion and you reach "hostile" approval level, they will break up with you with a rather amusing dialog beforehand.

the convos are very different for the different levels of approval (negative and positive). With the exception of Alistair (who will only leave if you recruit a certain someone) they will actually reach a 'crisis point' if approval drops too low and leave you. (There are videos on UTube that show these conversations).
I am not certain of differences in other NPC's normal dialogues but Alistair has a LOT of hostile responses built into his programming. Certain situations will cause him to react very differently depending on approval. (If you have DA on the PC, you can check the toolset to see them or go look them up on Utube).

They give you different greetings and usually give you an angry look when you initiate dialogue. I think they may have different barks (when you click them) but not positive. And you don't get access to some/all of the personal quests if you never get high enough approval.
If you hit -100 approval, you get a hate speech from most of them, which can end with them leaving or attacking in some cases. Some characters have additional conversation as soon as you reach hostile territory (-26 or something).
Besides the conversations at the epilogue and the Denerim gates, the only 'major' thing I remember is when Zevran's former Crow companion, Taliesen, attacks the party. If you haven't got his approval up to +26(?) he betrays you and rejoins the Crows. So he doesn't have to dislike you for that, just still be neutral.
BTW, it's pretty easy to see most of the hate conversations, just talk to them, tell them to leave the party, then change your mind at the last moment. You lose approval each time and hit negatives pretty easy. I think Alistair's the only one you can't do this too since you can't tell him to leave. Anyway, once you hit -100, if you talk/hit them out of leaving they go up to -99. If they hit -100 again you get another speech where they're determined to go this second time.

The barks (when you click on them) are the same you get when neutral. That's actually something I hate, how even once you're close to "warm" approval you still get hostile barks.

I used the Feastday Pranks to get people to -100.
Some of them were painful to watch.

Bah, humbug! That does rather suck.

That's how I got to the -100 reactions too. I'm not good at making "evil" decisions.

I like how to him, Alistair receiving a book about the "Kyngs" of Ferelden is worse than killing Connor or doing the blood magic ritual to save Eamon.

I have been trying to find a few vids on YouTube that will show what happens along the way and when you get that -100 companion approval but haven't had much luck. Do any of you have a link that I could use?
Thanks!
Thanks!

You certainly see radical changes in their character disposition. I just got a right bollocking from Alistair, and you see a side of him that you just don't get to see if he's high on approval. Worth it for that alone.
