Ah the Garrus thread was a funny old place. People were much more outspoken about his potentially being a love interest than Varric. Just one reason noone should write Varric off as a potential LI.

If I recall correctly Thane was the same (the male alien designed by Bioware as an LI from the outset even), loads of people were posting about him being ugly and whatnot. At the end of the day it seems to me that Garrus and Thane (and their fans who wanted them to be love interests) had the last laugh.

Not sure if these women charaters hold a candle to Morrigan and Leliana. I mean one is married and the other is a nasty pirtate. The other is the main characters sister. Am I missing anyone that they have announced or have photos of?

They aren't done announcing companions yet.

Although I know it won't be done for time and resources limitations, I'd like to have a timeskip-exclusive companion on each time period. It'd give a more memorable way to remember each part.

I like Aveline from what little I've seen. It's nice to see a tough female warrior who actually looks the part, while also maintaining a degree of femininity. I do hope she gets heavier armor at some point, though. Not necessarily massive armor but something more than the studded leather she has in the screen shots. Given how I'm planning to play my Hawke, though, I'm not sure he'll get along with Aveline.



I'm not sold on Isabella. Her outfit doesn't help me take her seriously, but that's a shallow judgment so I'm withholding an opinion on her until I know more.



It's really hard to judge based on what little information we have, though.

If you noticed, I meant more how it was with Origins. I was barely involved with any discussions on the subjects of Mass Effect 2.
Was the deal with Garrus ever as annoying as the ugly topics? And was it not more about him being only vaguely similar to humans, than a flow of posts consisting of subjective or unexplained insults?

The issues what some people may have had with Varric for example was discussed about in a far more civil manner, even then, not many cared.

Hey Maria, I thought you were the one requesting the hot ogre sex for DA:O? So...Garrus should be right up your ally?

Back to the topic at hand, I can't say either of the female companions really leave much of an impression yet, since it's entirely a physical one. Isabella's look is kind of cool, though I agree about the pantless thing, it looks like she was attacked early in the morning and didn't finish dressing. Aveline looks like a soldier...which is appropriate, no frills to her. That is not a bad thing, but she's far from striking to me, rather plain-Jane. For any RPG character, I really have to get to know the personality to find out whether they are attractive or not. So many genericly "attractive" people have terrible personalities.

If someone put a gun to my head and told me to pick, I would likely go with Isabella because she's supposedly a flirt and a rogue-ish type, and we've had a slight taste of her personality from DA:O and rogue-ish types are always cool to me.

If it helps I saw plenty of posts on the Origins boards saying that Zevran was ugly/not as attractive as they had hoped. Not sure it reached Isabela levels of rediculous but still.
