Visually, I'm not too hot about either off them. But I do like Aveline more ATM.

The face on a woman is FAR more important to me than the b00bs or the hind quarters.

I really like Isabela. Found her to be interesting back in Origins and wanted to recruit her (I actually thought that last companion slot was reserved for her...).
In DA2 she looks even better and sounds like she'll be loads of fun to have around. Definitely my first choice of a LI and most likely my "canon" LI to boot.

Aveline? I'm really love by the idea of having a female warrior in my group that will actually survive past the intro. Also, she is the first female warrior in Dragon Age that actually looks the part. Can't wait to find out more about her.

So far, Varric, Isabela and Aveline look like they'll be my default party throughout the game.

And besides male Shepard, have they ever used any real life models on other characters? Huh? HUH!?

We don't have any information on male LIs for DA 2 yet and the only companions we know about are Carver and Varric and we're not even sure yet that Carver is a permanent companion. There is a thread of well over 300 posts about Varric though and there's a fair bit of discussion on his appearance there (I believe Carver has his own thread as well).

The Carver "derp" topics have not eluded me, that only partly fits, for he is not a love interest, one's brother. And if you have not noticed, I used to be a constant poster in the Varric thread. Pfeh, neo-varricians...

I did mean mostly discussions about Origins, as it has been. I did not forget the lack of revealed male companions with the second installment. The Varric thread is comparable to the Alistair threads, where appearance is one of the main factors, but rarely have I seen even there the flow of "ugly, gtfo" posts. Morrigan and Leliana had all sorts of opinions about them, but if anyone did find male companions unattractive, the opinion was rarely expressed.

It's par for the course in these forums. Before DAO was released, apparently Morrigan and Leliana were hideous monsters, and there was even a multiple page thread about the size of Morrigan's lower lip.

All I am saying is that male non-player characters are far less picked apart just by their appearance. Yes, appearance is important with both sexes, I would not mind having a love interest with the appearance of a male model (come to think of it, it seems far less realistic than having a woman with a model's appearance), and the various gush threads are a testament to that. But for some reason, depth of character and other factors can beat the appearance more easily than with female characters.

Same for Mass Effect 2--there were pages and pages and pages about how Miranda's head was as lumpy as a baked potato.

Wow that revamped version is a million times better. The way she looks now, her face looks, well... fat.
