Talking of bugged effects, anyone here know of a mod that fix most of these effects? It would be nice to chose gear for the stats it provides, and not because it has effects which arn't bugged.
I would suggest searching the Dragonage Nexus site http://www.dragonagenexus.com/
if there are, they are probably there.

There's a fix for the healing recieved stat bug. It's on both the nexus and this site. I'm not sure what other equipment stat bugs there are.

So if a dedicated modding fan can come up with a fix that seems to work for most people, why can't the actual QA team do the same? Not to mention the first patch took like 3-4 months to release, when many in the mod community were popping out fixes within days or a couple of weeks.
And of course, ironically, the whole "healing recieved" glitch on equipment was also fixed, thanks to modders...
Bioware got sum 'splainin' to do...
Apparently it's not all Bioware's fault. They can't release patches unless it's for all platforms at once, and to do that they need approval from Sony and Microsoft, which costs them. If it was just PC I gather they could fix us up in no time.
Of course, if beta testers caught the bugs in the first place we wouldn't have these issues at all...

Along with incompatibility with DLC items (don't make me pay for sweet loot and then take it away due to laziness, there's no explanation for that), the inability to import the save and actions of my Origins character, who sacrificed himself (without magically reviving him and forcing me to play the same class), and the changes I've read about DA2, I've decided not to buy DA2 anyway. I was a few days away from preordering, now I might get it when it's dirt cheap, if it's any good.

Yeah, that's it exactly. The beta testing. These bugs should have been caught or fixed.
Even if they caught the bug, but found out they couldn't get a fix in time for release, they could have at least announced the information on websites and through fliers at game outlets, ect, of the problem, and tell people of a workaround, so all those folks playing it fresh out the box don't get a really nasty surprise.
People usually find out about it too late. Sure, one can always reload and such, and msot do, but having such a negative experience in your first playthrough might dampen enthusiasm in the future.
What was really sad, though, was patch 1.03. Not a really good way to pave the way for your new expansion: introduce a patch that ends up introducing more bugs than the original game had to start with, and tell people it's necessary to play the expansion with.

It's not like quick-save doesn't mention that little fact or anything...USArmyParatrooper wrote...
I experienced this bug recently and let me tell you, of ALL the bugs this should have certainly been a priority. I was screwed. Up to that point I quick-saved frequently not knowing that quick saves only save the last. What I was left with is a quick save and a bunch of autosaves, all of which took placed AFTER the bug had occurred. All of my equipment - countless hours of going out on missions, saving up gold and finding the right rune stones all gone in a flash. I ended up having to re-import my character and start over.
Quick-save does mention that? Who's this guy named quick-save that mentions the feature only retains the last one used? When you press F5 it says nothing more than "Saving..."

Weaken darkspawn, healing effects, + stamina (Don't know about mana.), +/- hostility towards enemies, all these are bugged. There are most likely more, these are just the ones I've noticed.

Just encountered this bug, robbed me of the best gear I had, all of the good stuff was on my Orlesian warrior. I'm not going to reload before the mine and spend all that time again, even if I have a save from there. My enjoyment with the rest of Awakening has dropped considerably, so thanks for that!

And then you discovered this thread, and decided to try the Whine, How convenient....
Yes; laziness; nothing else could 'splain *mod design* why a few DLC pieces are incompatible with DAA. And if you and myself sacrificed ourselves for Ferelden, while it may have been nice to have previous choices bookmarked for an Orlesian Warden, it is hardly required since we are both dead, and playing a secondary character.
But it the last bit that gives me chuckles: will wait to see if it is any good, then save a bundle. Pls feel at ease, as I preordered my copy, and may be able to play almost immediatly; bugs or no bugs
I admire your patience, frugal nature, and ability to learn from this occasion to research ahead to see if DA2 has any flaws.... *bazinga*

Beats rewarding a company for producing bugware.
If people keep buying bugware, there is no incentive for the company to tighten up their Q&A.
BTW, I haven't seen any announcements of Shiny Baubles or Special Content for Brownnosing.

Ahh, so basically damned near every special attitbute of equipment is bugged. Great.
not sure if Qwinn's fixpack has fixed these things. I know it fixed the healing recieved. I suppose I shall have to have a browse to see if Qwinns, or someone elses, patch fixes these things. I think blood magic improvement is also bugged, if I remember correctly.

AFAIK, +Stamina is working, at least on the PC; could not find any details on this enhancement.

I closed the game, found the forum and the correct thread, logged into my old account and gave my 2 cents, what's wrong with that? I didn't rage, I never do.
Besides, they've messed up with a product (several if you count Origins, Awakening and the dlc I've bought), and don't deliver what most people consider adequate support, so I think I'm allowed to whine, thanks. {smilie}
I'm considering it laziness (or lack of willingness to put aside resouces for it) because I don't see any reason why these items shouldn't cross over. I feel the same way about the bugged effects, and the large amount of time from bug discovery to fix, if they're even fixed now?
What's the point of playing an RPG where you can affect the world quite a bit, and then give the legitimate options of A, B and C, where C is not recognized in the expansion (it shouldn't be an impossible thing to implement the choices). At least in Mass Effect 2 I could change my class.
Your comment about my last statement just shows that you're here to make snide comments. I have plenty of games to keep me occupied, so I'm good, but thanks for caring.

@HafniumMR - I am sorry if I came across too surley. I still do not believe we ever get the right to whine, but my current tolerance for such is weakened, and I may have overplayed my hand. Again, I apologize.

Well colour me surprised, I was expecting a troll to emerge.
No apology needed, the roles could easily have been reversed.
Thanks, you too. <3<3<3 (ok, maybe a bit much)

Odd, when I equip items with + stamina on the PC, nothing happends. And I kind of agree with your whole " We never deserve to whine" idea, but I think we should point out flawes such as these, and we should also expect Bioware to fix them within a reasonable amount of time. We've kept our part of the bargain.
Besides, it's rather silly if you think about it, that almost all attributes which are not pure stat ones ( I'm sure some pure stat attributes are bugged too
