You ever played a Community Made Module off the Vault and got stuck and needed help?

You ever wondered what that Community Made Module was All About before you played?

You ever played a Community Module and Liked it SO Much that you felt obligated to Review it or Recommend it?

Well you can do that in the Modules Forums.  I am told that most folks think the Modules Forums is for Builders Only to discuss their Modules with other builders.  NOT SO!

The Modules Forums is where builders do this, to be sure, but there is more to it than that.  Builders look for help with their modules from other builders, but they also ask for Voice Talent, Scripters, Testers, Modelers, and also like to showcase their progress with screenshots and videos, links to their blogs and websites where you can watch the progress of their projects as they build.

More than that, this is the place where folks have taken the time to compile lists of the modules available and where if you're seriously stuck, you can get help.  You can post your opinions on modules you've played and critique the work of the authors (be polite please.)  You can help module authors by answering the call for playtesters (and believe me, it's a lot more fun to do that than you might think.  I Alpha Tested "Misery Stone" and "Legend of White Plume Mountain" and while I provided feedback, I had a great time playing these modules before others even knew they were close to being ready.  Awesome stuff.)

Now before you go rushing off expecting to find some magical wonderland of enchantment, there is no rabbit hole or wardrobe to go through.  And there are a few simple rules we'd all like you to observe.  Other than that, it's another forum for the general population to explore, use and discover.

Spoilers.  IN the General Discussions forums, we ask that you do not post Spoiler information about anything module related.  This is intended for the Official Campaign and the expansions, but we'd like to have you think that way about Community Made Modules as well.  And we'd like you to respect that in the Modules Forums, also -- with a bit of a twist.

In the Modules Forums, if you post a review, or an opinion about a Module, please do not post any Spoiler type information in those threads.  If you have a request for help with a Module, first please look for a thread title that starts with: SPOILER Help: [name of module] and please do look past the first page before you create a new thread for help getting through a module.  If you create a new thread for help, please start it like this:

SPOILER Help: [Name of Module]  (For example:  SPOILER Help: Nighthowls in Nestlehaven)

That way, all Spoiler related information will be contained in one thread for that specific module and thus, if folks don't want spoiler information, they can skip that thread.

If you wish to post a review or critique, you can probably find a Module Author thread that talks about their offering and post in that.  If you feel you should post a separate thread, please simply post something like:

REVIEW: Sands of Solvheil; or
CRITIQUE: The Red Prison.

That way, folks coming in later know where to get a review or critique list (because we expect others with an opinion on the same module to post in the same thread topics, not start new ones, right?) for those specific modules they might have an interest in trying out.

This thread topic was brought to you out of this topic in the Modules Forums: Discussing community modules and, as a Community Service, I felt it deserved your attention in this vein.

I hope you all now know that the Modules Forums are for you as much as they are for the builders and that you should make use of them, though please do not abuse them.  The General Discussion forums is still where you post questions of a general nature on the game, mehchanics, happenings in the Community, news, etc.  If you have module specific questions, reviews or information, then you should be reading or posting in the Modules Forums an we ask that you please abide by the guidelines in this post while there.

Thank You All and best regards,
dunniteowl
